"Revered Elder: Keeper of Stories and Knowledge"

Harlequin started her life as the smallest hatchling in her nest. Eventually, she became tired and bored of her home in the land of the water dragons, she set off on her own to travel and see other lands. She met and befriended an elder, and the two of them traveled the lands together for many years. The elder eventually passed on, leaving her with a tome that was written in a language that was long dead. She traveled to the farthest corners of the lands in search of a way to translate the tome, eventually finding it in an obscure cave that existed only in rumors and legends. When she read the tomb, she found herself transformed, gaining the ability to glimpse into the future and the knowledge of stories and histories long past.

She met Aurora and Adaryn as she traveled during the Great Chill, and the three of them eventually settled at RavenRock where she is often sought after for her knowledge and stories. Despite the importance and serious nature of her role at RavenRock, Harlequin still likes to enjoy herself. She always seems to know when a dragon is feeling down, and will often attempt to cheer them up in various creative ways.

Harlequinn is in charge of storing and cataloging all of the knowledge of the Clan, and is extremely diligent about preserving it, enlisting the help of other dragons when she needs. Her efforts have saved the Clan from destruction or embarrassment on more than one occasion.

Harlequin "Quin" hatched among her siblings in the raging surf. Always smaller and faster than the other Nocturne dragons in her family and ridiculed because of her size, Quin played alone amid the crashing waves of the domain of the water dragons. Tiring of her routine, Quin set out to see the world.

Quin quickly ran across an arcane elder that had tired of his life. Befriending the aging dragon, he shared with her, stories of the past and knowledge of future. Years passed like minutes as Quinn soaked up the knowledge and stories that he offered.

For years, decades, Quin learned from the elder as they traveled the different realms.

One sad day, the elder smiled at the tiny Nocturne dragon kindly with a twinkle in his eye and offered her a scroll that glowed with a soft arcane light.

"I have protected this scroll for more years than even I remember. Saving it for a time when someone worthy would glide forward to claim it."

He passed the scroll to Quinn with only a vague description before he closed his eyes and sighed out his final breath of life. Quin mourned her friend and mentor, too saddened to even care what the contents of the scroll might be or what the elder's explanation that the object would ensure that her appearance reflected her heart and purpose might mean.

More than a month passed before the glowing of the gift caught her attention through the shroud of her grief. At long last, Quin opened the scroll. It was written in a language that was long dead, but Quin was undeterred. The elder had gifted it to her, she was determined to understand why.

She roamed the realms searching out knowledge and stories in her quest to translate the scroll. At long last, Quin stumbled upon a cave that existed only in legends and stories passed down from generation to generation. In the cave, she discovered the means to read the scroll that she had carried with her for so long.

As she read, she realized that the scroll contained all of the knowledge and stories of the dragon elders. She read on, not even noticing as the arcane light continued to brighten around her. She read on, fascinated, as she felt warmth from her nose to her tail. She forgot about food and water as she read, as she learned.

Some time later, Quin read the last words with a smile as the scroll crumbled to dust and floated away on a soft breeze. Exhausted, Quin curled up in a corner of the cave and slept. Quin slept for nearly a week before she yawned widely and sat up.

To her surprise, the cave looked vastly different than it had before. The cavern not only seemed to have grown in size, but with each blink of her eyes, it was as if she was seeing all around herself without even moving. Each blink of her eyes bringing to mind a different story or piece of knowledge.

Twisting around to look at herself, she gasped as she saw that not only was her body now the tiny, agile form of a Fae, but she had acquired the multi-gaze that marked her as not only an elder, but a revered elder, a protector of stories, legends, and knowledge.

She set forth from the cave, finally comfortable and confident in her own skin. She returned to her home realm, to share tales of her adventures to her family. When she glided into their lair, her eldest brother stared at her in shock from where he sat among several hatchlings that were obviously his younglings. He stood and lowered his chin in respect that he had never shown her before,

"Honored Elder... We are privileged to host you in our home..."

Quin was stunned to silence by the respect in his voice until she remembered that she had changed much in her time away. She forced herself to relax and smiled at her brother,

"Ahren, It's me. Harlequin."

One of her new eyes blinking as a vision of her brother living a long life with his hatchlings and mate before committing himself to serve the Tidelord. She considered him for several moments as he gaped at her in awe. Apparently, the extra gazes that she had acquired allowed her to not only glimpse the stories of the past but also flashes of the future.

Quin spent years with her family, finally having found her place and earned their respect. Eventually, she became restless, a sense of dread making her wings heavy.
