alright a lot of dumping - will write into a coherent story eventually but this is a blurb

snowe is effectively almost the same species as taranza, except he's a sort of moth "subspecies" while taranza's kind is the arachnid "subspecies"
a long time ago the two subspecies ruled together, a king or queen representing their insect peoples working with the other
however, an incident involving a hybrid royal occurred, and the moths and arachnids were confused - did he rule as a moth, or an arachnid? discussion turned to argument, argument turned to fighting. they had a minor civil war between themselves, until eventually the arachnids prevailed.

years in the future, a little before the events of kirby triple deluxe, snowe is part of the "royal" lineage of moths, who serve as minor nobles who work underneath the rule of the arachnid king or queen. they are mere ambassadors, representations of the other kind of insectoid people that live in floralia. the "royal" moths, known by their very original surname, "motho", were known for their pragmatic views and were very peace-seeking in terms of decisions, and snowe was no different. snowe's personality and lack of dislike of the arachnids even allowed him to befriend sectonia's personal servant, taranza- the two are thick as thieves! snowe tries his best to encourage his buddy to tell his queen about his feelings for her, but taranza always backed out at the last minute. poor man, he can't win.

however, when queen sectonia was gifted the black mirror by taranza and took on her more wasp-like form, the moth people were terrified. they believed this to be a sign from the subspecies collective ancestor, the wasp insectoids, that the arachnids were superior. fearing the worst, the moths secretly planned a mass migration, hoping to move to a new region of popstar that was frigid, snowy, and far, far away from floralia and its arachnid rule. they were also tired of being number two to arachnids instead of the equals they once were. snowe was perhaps one of the only moth saddened by this information, because he was very good friends with taranza, and leaving meant he couldn't ever return- not unless something was done about sectonia, who seemed to be becoming more and more aggressive towards the moths on the daily. one night, under the cover of a new moon, the moths bid farewell to their former city, and slip away unseen.

they trek and fly for many days, weeks. its tiring, and there are many dangers outside of floralia's realm in the sky. but eventually, they made it! their new home, new city, which they name saturna. the moths find it quite nice, considering their natural insulation, and settle in quickly, but snowe finds it difficult to relax when his friend could be in danger due to sectonia's newfound aggression. his father prevents him from leaving, though, and tells him to wait until they eventually receive news that floralia is at peace once more.

and so he waits. snowe is normally a patient lad, but even he starts whenever a messenger bronto burt flies in, hoping for information. after what seems like eternity to him, he finally catches wind of signs of change in floralia- the famous pink puff, kirby, and the great king dedede have stopped secotnia's cruel reign. upon hearing this, he quickly hustles to his father in hopes of gaining permission to leave. his father, expecting as much from him, grants him so, and snowe makes his way back to floralia to check on its recovery.

-while snowe is gone father finds mirror, doesnt know its actually a dupe of the black mirror containing parallel/dark snowe, who tricks him into listening to him and then discreetly passes on a disease to snowe's father - one that para/dark snowe has used to kill off his alternate universe's arachnids
-basically while snowe is off frolicking with his friend and maybe crush taranza, the moths all succumb to disease and perish
-man is ... heartbroken and becomes kinda depressed but suppresses his sadness as to not worry his friend
-he blames himself partially bc he could have returned earlier and maybe stopped it, but its possible he could have not been able to do anything bc the medics could do nothing either
-decides to stay in floralia and ... is slowly trying to recover from it
-visits saturna very often and one day finds the mirror
-para/dark snowe messes with him and snowe tells him to sod off and the two epically duke it out
