Consort to the Dusk Queen of the Celestial Courts

"Are you certain that you won't stay?" Madainn asked the pale complexioned mortal who loitered close to he and Oidhche during the festivities welcoming the coming of Midsummer to the Dusk Court.

"I.." Scaoth hesitated, her voice caught in her throat. So readily had she been lured into the revelry this evening. She had intended only to play her part as messenger, and yet, with conversation and entertainment, with dancing and well and truly drunk on the magic of the evening, she had loitered much nearer the Queen and her Consort than some might deem proper.

"I would not wish to impose upon you," she admitted at last, "or upon Your Highness." She addressed Oidhche at the last, the elegant figure of the Queen of Dusk turning towards her with a lift and crook of a claw, inviting her closer still to the throne. As if drawn by gravity, Scaoth stepped closer, head bowing low as she stood still under the scrutiny of the Faerie Queen who sat above her.

"We would be delighted." Oidhche began as she descended from her place, and came instead to stand alongside the nervous mortal. "We would be absolutely delighted if you deigned to stay with us for the evening, Scaoth."

Pale wings touched by the constellations fluttered, and Scaoth felt her heart begin to hammer in her chest. Surely this was improper, wasn't it? Wasn't it? She was gripped by a wave of indecision when Oidhche lifted a clawed limb and it eased against the side of her face. She had been warring with herself. Did she stay, or did she go? Had she noticed, the way that she had been watched? Had they noticed that she had been watching them?

"I will stay, then." Scaoth's face turned into the claw against her cheek, pale eyes lidding as she locked her gaze with the queen. Madainn chuckled softly nearby as he turned to survey the remaining gathering, and then instead shifted his focus to his beloved Queen, and their new companion.

"Come." He stated. "The merriment will continue for a time, and we would very much all benefit from a bit of time to speak alone."

What began as a simple meeting during a Midsummer Festival became a rapidly growing affection between Oidhche, Scaoth, and Madainn, until the pale dragon was elevated to the position of Consort. Though Scaoth may never truly continue the line of the Courts, she is a treasured and valued companion, and holds a place of honor alongside Madainn. There are those who say that Oidhche has become a little more open since Scaoth's arrival.
