Traveler, soothsayer, storyteller – these are just a few of the terms that have been used to describe Aurelia over the years. She has trouble staying in any one place for long, and tends to pick up new names and skills every time she visits somewhere new. Despite all of these titles, not much is known about her youth. She doesn’t remember much about her childhood, perhaps because she’s blocking out those early memories, since she has an otherwise photographic memory. One of Aurelia’s favorite things to do is collect souveneirs from her travels. She keeps her memories in jars and other glass containers; a strip of dyed silk, an old book full of pressed leaves, or a handful of sand from the Shifting Expanse. With each new place she visits, she adds another jar to her collection. When she travels, she likes to hang the jars and vials from a belt around her hips. They clink together, creating a strange sort of music when she moves around. She loves to collect stories and myths just as much as she does trinkets. Everywhere she goes, she’s sure to find interesting people to talk to. She carries the story of each clan she visits with her. She loves to create her own fictional stories as much as she enjoys retelling the true ones. To that end, she makes sure to write down every single story she hears. She has so many books full of stories, she can’t even carry them all around with her. Although she tries to stop herself, Aurelia has the bad habit of “borrowing” things from other people. Her sticky fingers haven’t gotten her into trouble yet, but she’s left more than a few dragons missing trinkets like quills and beads before. She makes a point never to steal anything that will be missed. |
