To the back of the Tribe's long caravan looms a great wyrm covered in darkened pelts and old tattered fabrics, a heavy pointed shovel at his side clanking against a collection of long pointed stones. Accompanied by a Greybeak Corven, and bonded to a distant Bogsneak covered in bones, the wanderers have attached themselves to the Snowsquall Tribe with grim matters dealing in the deceased. Servaas lives as a traveling undertaker, wandering through the deadliest most forlorn lands of the Southern Icefield in search of those that perished to the ice. Equipped with stones carved with simple words of memorial and remembrance by his claws, the Imperial will lay to rest any and all that he comes across along the treacherous pathways, giving them the due honor of a proper burial. From Beastclan to Dragonkind alike, he will give them all the same dignity, content that his efforts will rest the many souls that met their unfortunate ends in this harsh land, and prevent the risk of the frozen expanses becoming overridden with lost and distraught spirits. Despite his rather foreboding appearance and morbid profession, Servaas is a surprisingly soft spoken and friendly individual, easy to talk to and full of polite patience and respect. He has carried out his work for many many years, long before he and his mate decided to take up travels with the beastlike Tribe, and the respect for the work they do has put them in the good graces of many surrounding clans and villages scattered about the Southern Icefield. No matter how intimidating the Snowsquall Tribe may appear when wandering close to another clan's territory, out of respect to Servaas and Damon for the final verdict they were able to give on ones gone missing, the clan will bid the Tribe peaceful passage in their honor. To willingly endure such grueling temperatures and bitter terrain for so many years, it's clear his seemingly indiscriminate wanderings aren't without a sole purpose. When asked what drew him out to take such a grim profession, Servaas will readily admit it is his own kin that he seeks out in the icy wildernesses, to find the bodies of fallen Imperials and prevent the risk of an Emperor's creation in these already dangerous lands. And with the rumors of what has emerged in the Sunbeam Ruins, that undertaking has only seemed to become even more dire... |

Servaas and Damon are an odd couple. Despite having been present for many years now, the Tribe feels they almost never see the two together, Damon often trailing far at a distance from the rest of the group in hiding even when free of any spirits to ferry. Yet when asked of her, Servaas always speaks fondly of her as if she were standing right at his side, seemingly completely unbothered by her elusive nature. With only the slightest glance, his ears will angle gently into the winds, before he calmly murmurs his reassurance. "She's nearby; no need to worry for her. If she had a problem she would have already told me..."

The immense trust he puts in Damon is a grand testament to the love he has for her, fully aware and comfortable with the natural solitude his mate's species tends to favor, and honoring it as much as she needs. What the Tribe doesn't see are the winterbelles Servaas will leave behind for her to stumble upon as they travel, the black maidenfish caught in the streams and the large pointed stones for his cairns Damon will leave for him when he wakes. The rare moments she will come out of the woodwork to spent time with him are deeply treasured, and Servaas knows with the fullest confidence that if he were to ever find himself in trouble or in need no matter how small or out of the blue, Damon would never fail to suddenly be there at his side. |
