Two strangers lingered at the nesting grounds for just a tad too long after their own fledgelings had moved on...the egg that resulted from their synergy was unexpected, but a welcome addition to their lives! Charnia's parents have done their best to impress upon her the values held in high esteem by the clan, and by all accounts they've succeeded; Charnia is diligent, witty, and unwavering; truly an old soul in a young body. She contributes to her clan by gathering and foraging above and below the waves, pushing past the boundaries of the Tidelord's territory for natural treasures to enrich the clan. While she was once apprehensive about leaving her home clan, Charnia has quite smoothly handled the mantle of traveling dragon; she is always the first to dance with new friends, sample a never-before-smelled food, and jump head-first into strange waters. When her assignment was first revealed, Charnia felt a strangely pervasive apprehension at the thought of leaving her home; it was not helped by her mentor's frantic preparation for each possible fate that may come about during the course of her travels. Milo worried for her in an almost parental manner - except Charnia's actual parents were equal parts excited and supportive, with none of the paranoia. Charnia rolled her eyes and chalked Milo's behavior up to being clanborn, while Zephyr and Ishkal both bounced regularly between staying in port towns, visiting friends' clans, and returning to the peace of the Grotto. Charnia herself wouldn't fall into fear, she decided, she would welcome the opportunity to broaden her horizons! (Naturally, she worried all throughout her first trip until she arrived back home - after that, she gained confidence enough to lead the next trek!) |
