While Mongoose may be known in Roost's Edge primarily for his collection of various fungi and mycelium, both edible and herbal, Mongoose above ground is the supposedly dead prince of a kingdom. A dragon with a naturally weak constitution, his family knew Mongoose couldn't handle the stress of being a king, especially in their kingdom who's amidst a war. So naturally, they faked their son dying. A sudden tragedy, they've said, succumbing to a fiery explosion in the front lines amidst warfare whilst saving three hatchlings, a stray puppy and an endangered herb that's been long sought after for centuries. So maybe his parents went a little overboard with his death story as well, but at least the saving an endangered herb part was true! Mongoose took refuge in Roost's Edge, a tiny town so far away from his kingdom that none would even know of the land he originated from. Mongoose is known for cultivating various species of fungi; for eating, for medicine or for even both. He's even experimenting with growing mushrooms on his arm for convenient transport and a snack on the go.

RELATIONSHIPS

Rydian most often comes for whatever fungi he can get his hands on for his new potions; sometimes he even asks to ship Mongoose's products to a witch in the Wallows. Rydian doesn't know of Mongoose's position, but he senses he's hiding something.

Pervinca and Mongoose have met before they both left to the Down Under. Mongoose doesn't know if the Skydancer remembers him as a prince, but he's sure to never meet her eyes or be alone together.
