Biography

Queen Of Swords ♠ Ferocious Matron ♠ Red Fanged
G1 ♦ Custom Progen ♦ Female Mirror ♦ Level 17 ♦ Seven Digit ID

Shadowlaw was the first, diligently clawing rocks and sod away from a small cavern in a hillside. It wasn't long before several wild dragons took notice of the dark creature toiling the land. Cerulean was not the first to approach her, however he was the first to come away without blood. Vicious and in no mind to make friends Shadowlaw showed mere tolerance for the male mirror until he began to assist her digging. Once complete her tolerance turned, the aggressive matriarch marking him as her mate and claimed him for her clan's name.

Shadowlaw actually sought the red female out to join their group, and the disgraced soldier Phenax was the one who followed her in, hailing from a clan eager to exalt or discard him due to his less than ideal coloration and despite many attempts to refresh his scales into something more suitable to the eye. Shadowlaw and Cerulean both dug the new pair their own den as part of the nest, though after a while they grew close enough to nest in a pile together for warmth in the cool hours of early morning.

Voudun and Secret worked hard to win the dominant pair over, hunting together as a team to bring back impressive kills for the clan's larder. Shadowlaw found herself more and more tolerant of other dragons as something other than competition, forming bonds within her social group that took the harsh edges off her personality somewhat when she was with them. With her eggs ready to hatch very soon, the warlike matriarch finally took some time to tend to her mate and their nest.

Shadowlaw more or less kicked Cerulean out as their eggs pipped, caressing her new hatchlings with her nose as they broke free from their shells-already able to snap and fuss on their own power. Nesting with the twin girls Shadowlaw gave them their floral names, their wet wings soft as petals under her gentle attention. Cerulean returned not soon after he'd been given his leave to bond with their young children as well as bring his mate gifts found hunting. The four did not leave their nesting chamber at all that day, the running of the small clan left to the elder red traveler and her partner Phenax.

It wasn't long before more dragons had found their way to Shadowlaw's pack, and though many were not made to feel welcome she tolerated them so long as they did not pester her or bother her remaining daughter. Oleander had ventured forth into the world only to be sent to tend the deity of light almost instantly. Flowers from the light realm show up from time to time at the door to the lair, but more often than not they are devoured by the tundra Shane.

Shadowlaw doesn't seem too upset by this, and when Altar doesn't nibble on them she often gathers them up herself to share with Cerulean and Violet. Still grumpy and fairly antisocial, she holds no interest in dealing with the other clan members, save for her mate, the original pair of travelers, her daughter and the one tundra she seems to enjoy the company of, though she's still very tsundere around her.

Shane seems to take this odd affection well enough, but also likes to tease the dangerous Shadowlaw, often stuffing her into her foot fluff or tackling her into empty nests. They adore one another, but you'll never hear either one say it.

Voudun and Secret left to seek their fortune, finding their way to the court of the shadowbinder herself. On occasion they can be seen visiting, but it wasn't long before their business became too intense to allow excursions. Shadowlaw mostly stays in her nest chambers, allowing the more outgoing and tolerant Cerulean to run the lair.

Usually when she's out and about Shadowlaw is not a friendly face, however she does have a soft spot for hatchlings and tundras, which she affectionately calls 'big dumb hunks of thistledown.' Not so warlike as she once was, the great matron will still offer no hesitation when someone challenges her of threatens her hold.

"Don't worry deary, it's not my blood. Never is!"
