Biography
Part I
The Lone Survivor
The founding of the Sunrise Allegiance was quite a strange one. Sunrise was a newer clan, partly in the trees and partly carved into caverns in the cliffs. The Allegiance is a safehouse, a calm town for those who find the visit to Lanternlea Port too overwhelming, or didn’t wish to venture too close to the Beacon. This peaceful little clan is known for its mixture of many domain origins. They come from far and wide to feel the peace of the Allegiance. Even the leader herself came from the Wind Domain, years ago.
The adolescent Wildclaw glided across the sea in the middle of the night, chased by soldiers of her old, dying clan. A short-lived, and almost purely Wildclaw, rebel clan. It’s name was the Bleeding Sparrow. It had emerged within the territory of a much larger clan, being destroyed from the outside and from within. Two factions emerged, the Hawk Talons and the Zephyr Wind, as many called it. Their soldiers were often sworn to celibacy during the war. But the clutch that held the Lone Survivor had not been properly destroyed as they initially thought.
Her name was Dawn. Though, she had no name back then. She hadn’t earned one. She’d been known as ‘Lone Survivor’, the one remaining of a soldier’s forbidden nest.
Despite her unwanted survival, the young Wildclaw grew up in the hostile realm that was her clan. Surrounded by the pelts of numerous animals (as well as other dragons), she was trained to oppose authority and to build up her strength. However, she found herself opposing the wrong authority, now being chased out of not only the clan, but the Wind domain as a whole. She escaped with a few bumps and bruises, sifting through the trees and contemplating taking a swim in the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Though, she realized she would surely manage to drown if she found herself in hostile waters, or caught by the very Wildclaws that chased her out.
Gliding into the night, she lost them as she flew over the Flotsdam Town. Her tired wings began to ache as she flew. She wasn’t a long distance glider at all due to her adolescent wings, smaller than they should be and still forming to what one day would be adult wings (if she managed to survive until then).
She ended up landing on the coast soon after, exhaustion overtaking her before she had a second to curl up under the trees. Animals woke her up just before the morning, where there was slight color in the horizon, but no sign of the sun yet. She took off before the morning could come.
She breached the border of the Sunbeam Ruins, the orange autumnal trees beginning to get taller and taller as she flew along the coast down Sunbeam and further from her last resting place at the Tangled Wood. She landed upon a boulder that reached into the sky, surveying the area. Massive claw marks were left in the stone she rested on. The sun began to rise behind her, the heat warming up her golden wings. She matched the terrain much better here, patterns of brown, gold, and orange across her iridescent scales.
A giant gust of wind shot from the trees in front of her, a golden Imperial reflecting sunlight back at her. She hissed at the massive dragon, spreading her wings to seem as big as she could, ready to fight. Though, if he did want a fight, the small Wildclaw would surely lose.
Instead, a simple question left his snout, a small grin curling up as he glided around her.
“And who may you be, little one?”
