Finsceal

The cloth over the little one's eyes kept her from seeing, but she knew that the sound of the one holding her was not a good one.

Upon her hatching, the three around had gasped. Upon opening her eyes, she saw the faces. A rather large dragon, and two much smaller ones that looked like her nest-mate. They had wasted no time in covering her with cloth upon the words of the large one.

"Protect your daughter. Distanced as you are of our clan, she is still to be protected and I for one will not let her take this child as she has so many others."

Who was her? The little one wondered as she listened idly to the squeaks of her brother, held by the other parent.

"Follow the map follow the map... For an imperial she sure could write small hm?" The words of the one carrying her brother spoke up.

"Yes yes, neat claws... We need to get her safe! Blessed by The Arcanist, sure, but that means more magic right?"

"Marais, you're worrying too much. We just need to get her to the spiral and her mate and then-"

"And then what? We never see her again?! Neil, you know-"

"Marais." His words caused the skitter of something as claws scrabbled at stone and crystal. Movement stopped, her head turned blindly toward the sound, unknowingly with her mother's. "We can trust her. I know you've been hurt before. And I have too, but... This clan, for all our distance..."

"Neil I'm... I'm just scared. Can we please move faster?" She squeaked suddenly, claws suddenly tightening and scratching into her still rather fresh wing membrane. "AH! Oh baby oh honey I'm so sorry." Her mother cooed, gently smoothing over the near wounds she caused.

"Don't hurt the little bugger! We'll keep moving, and we'll hurry but too fast and you might hurt them. Just... try to stay a little more calm will you?"

"I... Alright. Alright just... Give me a moment."

She shivered at the feeling of the soothing motions that continued from the claws of her mother, eyes closing under the veil of cloth that kept her head hidden. As movement began again, the sound of claws on stone and the feeling of movement eased her to sleep.
