Biography
Klaus
head villager | generous | hopeful | idealistic mate: Jesper With his vibrant coat, Klaus stood out against the muted Southern Icefield. His temperament also differed. While his fellow ice dragons were cold and calculating, Klaus was warm and welcoming. He enjoyed meeting new dragons and practiced generosity to those he deemed friends. This kindness did not bode well with his clan, a herd of traditional gaolers. They urged him to exercise caution so as to be a good guard. Eventually, Klaus's kind heart proved his undoing. A gaoler from an outside clan charmed Klaus only to infiltrate the clan and cause catastrophic damage to the lair.. Klaus was promptly banished. Devastated and guilty, he fled the Southern Icefield and wandered north. After some days of wandering, he found himself in the Scarred Wasteland. The land was inhospitable and poisoned but Klaus pushed forward. Such a backdrop suited his failure and he sought a cave to hide his shame. Instead, he found Jesper. Jesper was a fellow gaoler and he appeared a mirage amidst the toxic clouds. He asked why Klaus wandered alone and if he had a clan. When Klaus admitted he had none, Jesper invited him to stay the night as it was dangerous after dark. Reluctantly, Klaus agreed and followed. They soon came across a beautiful plot of land where soft grass covered the ground and beautiful crops flourished. He dined with Jesper and the two conversed of what brought them to the Scarred Wasteland. Klaus admitted his foolishness and readied himself for judgment, but Jesper responded with understanding, saying what happened to Klaus was cruel. At last, Klaus breathed a sigh of relief. One he had not realized he'd been holding and he slept easy that night. Come morning, Jesper asked if Klaus still intended to leave. When Klaus said yes, Jesper frowned. He admitted that he hoped Klaus would stay. For he enjoyed his company and believed the budding village could benefit from him. Surely his warmth would do well to put new dragons at ease and help them better acclimate. Klaus hesitated. He could not imagine his supposed weakness benefitting others. He told Jesper that he had been wrong once before and he did not wish to harm the village. Jesper smiled and told Klaus that he need not trust his judgment alone. For Jesper would be there to help if he ever doubted himself. Encouraged, Klaus agreed to stay and help build up the new village. His warmth and kindness proved instrumental in establishing the village. He led by example created a peaceful and prosperous village.
