founder, all-seeing seer

visum is a strange fae. despite being the former leader, most members have never even seen him unless he leaves his specialized tunnels to give a warning of incoming danger, or heal someone's wound they weren't even aware of.

this eerie knowledge is all thanks to their 'gift'. unfortunately born too close to the arcanist's power, they were practically exploding with it when they were born, and the best way to suppress it is to hide within the tunnels, far from the beloved clan they founded.

this allows him to focus and protect the ones he loves. it's a solitary life, yes.. but made much better by it's wife; aurum, and sister; watcher. they keep it company, and happily deliver it's letters to those above.

but if you were to peer past the strange crystals growing from his body, the strange mumbling, and the many sets of wings.. you'll find that underneath, there is a wisened, kind fae, who collects soft pillows & plushes, who suffers solitude to keep people safe. under the surface, you will find visum; a fae who prides himself on his love for those above ground, who strives to assist, no matter the loneliness he must endure.

nyx's notes; the all-seeing harpy.

In the far reaches of the Starwood Strand, a struggling Arcane clan loses a predetermined battle to a clan of Harpy. The remains are scavenged thoroughly, and the one single egg with it's heart still beating is snatched from it's nest to be a part of the clan's next feast. But upon the return with the spoils of their victory in tow, the egg begins to hatch, a vicious crying coming from within.

They couldn't have expected such a tiny little fae to erupt from it, nearly turning it's surroundings into dust with power it couldn't control as it fought to understand. Strangely, it was love at first sight, and the fae would find itself raised by Harpy, nearly becoming one itself in all but appearance.

It grew alongside several of their young, and although unable to communicate in their ways, still fought until it found a way to be understood by others, and to understand the power it was born with. Overflowing with the Arcanist's blessing, it had become something of an all-seeing seer; able to see visions of future events to come.

This isn't to say it's childhood was all fun and games. Such overwhelming power took years to control; it's magic was so strenuous, sometimes all it could do was cry, it's tiny body shivering as it cursed the Arcanist's name. But once it had something of a better grip.. it had become a force.

The clan was unstoppable with their Seer, named Visum for it's endless vision, and their Interpreter, named Watcher for her hawk-like eyes, capable of translating even the most frantic movements. Though dragon blood may have run through its veins, the fact was clear as day; this fae was a harpy in all but looks. It'd even been crafting a mask to don.

Of course, good things don't always last. The harpy no longer lives by the artisan's song, and now answers to the calls of war. An attack was not foreseen by their beloved Seer, and their comfort in it's visions became their ultimate doom. Nothing could be done when such an attack hit their clan but to watch the carnage. For as hard as they fought, for as fervently as Visum healed, it was utterly useless.

So it was that their sister grabbed it's trembling form and flew them both far, far, away from the warzone, as close to safety as she could, back into Arcane territory where they could rest and recover. And so they would remain in the Starwood Strand, safely hidden from view for eternity as they mourn their losses..

..until a vision later forced itself into Visum's mind, of the demise of a pair of travelers; a golden fae and a battle-hardened centaur. It was just their luck that their inability to just let fate run its course snowballed into founding an entire clan.

Watcher | She/Her ........................Observant | Calm | Stern

Watcher is.. frankly very unapproachable unless you're Visum or Nyx. She spends all of her time keeping vigilant watch over the clan during the day, not resting for even a second until she knows Amethyst can take over at nightfall.

Her nights are spent alongside her brother, Visum, keeping him abreast of what happened that day, and keeping him company 'til he can rest. She cares not for much else than her brother's happiness and the clan's safety.

But.. recently, a flock of harpy have begun to live within Sunspine City's walls. Her heart pangs in remembrance of her old flock.. and she begins to train with them, even teaching them the ways of the Harpy artisans of old.

Perhaps one day, she may lead them.. but 'til then, she is content as a Watcher.
