B I O G R A P H Y

Main Theme: Theme of the dragon, once I find one.

______ Hailing from a long line of Overseers within the Fortress of Ends, Slate was raised to honour and uphold the legacy of his ancestors and their hallowed oath with the Icewarden. Among his cohort he displayed exceptional promise, excelling in tactics, his ability to manipulate his Ice magic, and his sharp sense of judgement. It was almost a given that he would take up a place alongside his elders, and he worked hard to be worthy of the honour. But from his perspective, something never quite fit into place. He knew he was made to protect Sornieth from the horrors that plagued it and that he would spend his life doing so, but he felt a call pulling him away from the Fortress of Ends, suggesting the place he was most needed lay beyond the borders of the Southern Icefield. When he finally gave in and followed it, it brought him to the Hoverview Vale, a region under increasing threat from the atrocities that lie beyond the stars - to Solace, at the frontier of their onslaught.

______Within the citadel Slate also found something else he would give his life to protect - his pair-bond, Maeve. Though not unskilled in combat, she has a far greater affinity for support roles, and assists Solace’s endeavours to protect itself and the region at large by concocting and crafting all manner of weaponry, armour, and equipment to fit the needs of the clan’s defenders. Slate never leaves the citadel without something she has made for him, a ritual that brings them both comfort.

______Slate was also part of my Crystal/Facet discovery phase, catching my eye because of how much I liked the prismatic effects on the soft grey of Smoke Crystal. I bought the Curse of the Midas for him - something about how nicely the gold offsets his grey tones is very satisfying to me.
