IRONEYES' Clan

The inhabitants of the Starfall Isles have long known the Hoverview Vale as a region rich in arcane energy, forces so potent the land itself has been torn from its roots and lofted heavenwards. One piece of land in particular has been a longstanding source of fascination; a crest of floating earth at the apex of the world where leylines intersect and bring forth a wellspring of raw, primordial energy. The isle, however, has also been a source of fear; home to an eldritch presence that has been dormant as long as stories remember… until recently. As the elements have surged across Sornieth, the primordial entity has awakened, calling a clan to sow its foundations over the font of magic and building a citadel to protect it.

The dragons chosen to settle this floating isle, dubbed ‘Solace’ by its inhabitants, come from all elemental regions of Sornieth, contributing to a vast repertoire of clan knowledge on the secrets of the elements and the magicks they grant that continues to be nurtured by its members. All deities hold worship within the clan, chief among them the Arcanist, to whom the clan has tirelessly and openly dedicated its loyalty, though much of their activity remains veiled. While the clan welcomes trade and communication with outsiders, the inner regions of their sanctuary’s grounds and their great wealth of knowledge remain a mystery to the uninitiated; nothing more so than “Ironeyes”, the draconic founder that lies at their heart.




Hello, and welcome to Solace! While the clan lore-wise may not be too forthcoming with outsiders, you’re more than welcome to look around. Solace is inspired by the mystery cults of Ancient Greece, as well as the traditional usage of ‘arcane’ to refer to things that are mysterious or kept secret. ‘Ironeyes’ in my lore isn’t a self-insert, more just a fourth-wall nod to the way that I as a player control my clan and also a fun story element I can play around with. Lore for the clan and my dragons is still very much a work in progress at the moment, I’ll keep chipping away at it as I get time. For me personally, my favourite interpretation of dragons in stories is where they have human-like personalities and characteristics, but also a sort of deep wisdom and inherent power that sets them apart from other sapient beings, which is the philosophy behind how I imagine most of my dragons as characters.
