When Phthalo's clan first cleared the flooding that was blocking them from entering the more copper rich part of the mine, they found something very strange wedged in the passageway, a huge copper statue of a an imperial carrying a Gaoler dragonet. After digging the statue out and washing away the mud, the coper of the statue began to melt in the sun, and break off in sheets, revealing a pair of living dragons beneath. Their fur and scaled had been stained copper. soon they began to breathe again, and the first to open her eyes was the young Gaoler dragonet. She had no name, so the clan named her Kupfurclaw.

The dragonet had no memory of how she became sealed in a copper statue, or what her life was like beforehand. as far as she was concerned, life began when the copper melted off her and she opened her eyes.
