STORY OF BEGININGS

Calliope was lost as a young hatchling. She was a natural water dragon and a great wave swept her away. She was lost for several days before Nymphry found her, only a few weeks after Nymphry had come to the ocean in search of starting her own clan. Nymphry tried very hard to find Calliopes original clan, but after much searching she became convinced the wave either displaced them... or worse. Nymphry and Stoneys were happy to take Calliope in and raise her like a daughter. While Nymphry doesn't understand Calliopes gentle and soft spoken soul, she sees much of Stoney in her, despite not sharing any blood. Callope and her father have been told they have the same kind, patient eyes.

Calliope is a gentle, sensitive, and perhaps even naive dragon. She is the oldest of the "kids" as she was found by Nymphry and Stoney within the first few weeks of them establishing the Howitzer Clan. In some ways, she was the clans first hatchling. She has become something of an older sister to most of the "next generation." Despite this, Calliope has little interest in taking over her mothers roles. Thankfully Imphoria is a natural Crown. Calliope instead trains to take over many of her fathers responsibilities.

She found a kindred spirit in Cossin and the two are inseparable mates. Calliope is extremely good at feeling the emotions of other dragons, perhaps this is what makes her such an excellent mediator in the hoard.

The Heart Family is, well, the heart of the Howitzer Clan. In a way, they are the the clans royalty. While all of the clan is nymphry's family, the heart family is the queens immediate family. The Heart consists of Nymphry, Stoney, and their children;Calliope, Imphoria, Twisty, and Twiggy.
