I am a Sunken Skeleton

Souls of sailors lost at sea roam the ocean floor. They collect the water-soaked bones of their fallen comrades and selves. They exist with a fire inside that even the darkest ocean depths were unable to quench. And so, they take pride in any shipwrecks they find. Be it they patch it up to their near glory to rise it towards the surface, or they raid it to patch up another ship. During all of this they find fantastic loot, both in the water and out.
Unfortunately, this can have disastrous consequences if the young ones born of these spirits go untaught, as they have proven to be able to sink ships just to get the shiny loot. They'll even sneak up onto land, hauling anything that looks like it might belong in a treasure trove under the waves into their domains. Be it gems, treasure, spoons, wire; anything that is shiny or soft enough to be of value. The young minds are easily tired out however, and enjoy swashbuckling tales; a tip to any daycare advisors trying to get them to sleep.
