Biography

Naomi -->Willow -->Whisper -->Oshki-->Me

Dryleaf.

Honeycrisp.

Iris.

Ever since Aibleen was a hatchling, she was surrounded by plants.

Tall ones, skinny ones, poisonous ones, harmless ones.

They were always near her, invisible mouths speaking to her and invisible faces stretching wide with their grins.

Snapdragon.

Entoloma.

Manaweed.

She wasn't liked very much in her home clan. They found her odd. They thought it was too peculiar for a Pearlcatcher to be more obsessed with plants than their own namesake.

Aibleen didn't care. The plants were nice to her. They cared for her more than a shiny old rock ever could.

Chickweed.

Peppermint.

Rotala.

She was eventually kicked out. It didn't really matter, though; why have clanmates when you have plants?

She followed the flora through countless flights, pearl long forgotten, tucked away in a pouch somewhere on her body. She didn't really communicate or meet any other dragons on her travels; the few she did meet were quick to leave.

Daffodil.

Lucky Star.

Plantain.

The meeting of "The Breeze" was a pure accident; she had unknowingly gone into their territory, following a path of dandelions when they approached her.

When they asked if she wanted to join, she said yes without thinking.

Acorn.

Light's Breath.

Boxwood.

The trial had been easy. The other dragons tolerated her presence, a few even encouraging her love for plants.

She became a botanist at their request. The other dragons loved when she talked about plants, it seemed.

Now, she resides comfortably there, allowing her clanmates to join in on her gardening.

Thistle.

Cindervine.

Grove Fern.

Who said a Pearlcatcher needed a pearl to be happy?
