Voidsong

Voidsong was born at the edge of the shifting expanse. He'd always disliked the gods and their dominion over dragonkind, particularly the Stormcatcher's obsession with productivity, so when he came of age, he began to wander the world searching for a way to kill the gods. An ambitious goal for such a young dragon, but he was a determined one. It was at this point that he found that he was transgender and changed his name.
In his travels, he game upon legends of a portal to other universe, and fragments of instructions for how to build it. Though this would not kill the gods, it would give him and the rest of dragonkind access to spaces beyond the reach of their power. Over the years, as he learned and matured and became an expert mage, he gathered more of the information necessary to build the portal, filling in the gaps with his own designs. At last, he had a full schematic for it, and all he needed was resources. But no gods-fearing clan would take in a dragon such as he who had gotten a reputation for heretical thought, let alone follow his plans. That is, no clan would take him in until he ventured back to his homeland, as he had not done since he was a youth, and found a clan of outcasts, rebels, and rogue AIs evading the Stormcatcher's authoritarian business in the most rarely-treaded parts of the Shifting Expanse.
And it just so happened that another there had the same idea as he did: to build a portal to other universes, albeit with science rather than magic. He worked together with Tera to build the Vortex, in the process carving into his wings and soul a gateway for it to enter this realm through.
