the void is all consuming. it lives inside everyone, a little pocket of darkness in the corner of the heart. steadily growing throughout one's life-- swallowing them. silently. most are unaware of it until they are nearly nothing but pure dark themselves. some realize it while they still have a chance; some go out fighting. some accept fate and submit. such is the dichotomy of an intelligent creature's mind. it is of little consequence either way. the void is cold and unforgiving. why should it remember who you are, when all you really are is prey? but there is a way-- to remain. dragonkind are an imaginative bunch, with their stories and inventions. they have figured out a way to persevere through the corruption in their hearts, as well. you must unify. become the void. embrace it. it is in you for a reason. let it flood over you, through you, settle in your veins until you are the pulsing dark and it is you. until you cannot tell where it ends and you begin. if you ever truly began in the first place. atrox is a prime example of such a method. the living darkness itself. the epitome of balance. lost yet found all the same, a creature of unparalleled emptiness. she speaks in hushed tones, secret wisdom and lost arts and anything inbetween. she is the voice of the void. she spreads the glory of it. through her, others can open their eyes to the truth. on her tongue, the void has settled itself comfortably, leaking out in thick ink from her teeth and throat. no mind the coughing fits, the wheezing, the way her throat closes. the searing pain after speaking her own will. atrox may be a slave to the void, sure. but a willing one. she will serve until the void has seen her purpose through and needs her no longer. atrox is strong; she is just as wise. so when she whispers to you the darkness eating away at your own body, coaxes you to release yourself-- do not resist. | ___ |
