40569.png Beet stared at the plant that was growing by his feet. There was something... wrong with it.

Its leaves had all curled up, and the berries it was supposed to bear seemed as if they had given up growing about half way through. It was possible to harvest it now, but his stomach turned when he thought of actually eating it.

Clutching it in his claws, he made his way home to show his sister, Tomato. While walking along the muddy paths he was reminded of a story his father had told him when he was still but a hatchling.

When plants look like this, it means they're scared. Scared of something so evil that the roots from it have reached so far into the earth that even the plants can feel it.

Beet could feel in his heart that something bad was happening.
