Burning, blazing through the sky. Unsure of whether or not she was alive or dead. Unsure if she had ever even existed in the first place. Just before her brief period of consciousness ended she saw something below her. A place that, although it was night, dark, was full of lights. Tiny flames burning, just like her. She could feel herself tearing apart, and at that moment she realized she was scared of death. So somehow, without knowing how, she split herself into two. And fell. Into that town full of lights. The comet that fell that had started all of this. She had searched for it, but found no trace. It was all she could do to hope it had burned up and died, that what her magic had told her was wrong. Comet, the first
79562716_350.png
22yYmRF.png Comet fell.

Waw
k2eWhHJ.png
Waw had seen the signs, many months ago. The comet that fell that had started all of this.

She had searched for it, but found no trace. It was all she could do to hope it had burned up and died, that what her magic had told her was wrong.

But after the killings started, she knew that was not the case. It had brought something with it, something evil.

Waw had never trained with traditional magic. It was something that had been passed onto her by her mother, and was told it had been in the family for generations. Some people had called it 'cult magic' and scorned it.

But this was the only hope. To rid this town of the curse.

Artist's interactions

Vanilla
licnW6F.png
Vanilla jumped to his feet as the bell rang, announcing a new customer. He had never seen this dragon before, but she had the aura of a great artist about her.

And after a brief introduction he found out that she was a sculptor, like him and his brother.

"What are you making?" He asked the wary dragon, as he pointed out his favorite chisels and hammers.

The aberration was unable to get the words out at first, as if she was struggling to form fit her thoughts into a way she could express vocally. Eventually she just settled on one word.

"Perfection."

Latte
Latte had never taken inspiration from the world around him. Whenever he started a sculpture, he would look inside himself and see what he could find.

You can see how it would be startling to then see a dragon who looks strikingly like one of your creations walking the streets.

How Artist's life ended...

Mechina
w7qSGBr.png
Mechina had been a mechanic for many years. He was friendly with the locals, would help fix stuff for free and lend you equipment if you needed it.

One day he was approached by a dragon he hadn't seen much of, but after saying she knew Vanilla from the art supplies store, he decided to trust her. She just wanted some tools for one of her 'creations' she said.

Taking a saw, nails, and a few other pieces of equipment she left, with a promise that she would show Mechina the finished product when she was done. He always liked supporting local artists.

But after his equipment wasn't returned for a few weeks, he decided to investigate. After a short while he managed to find where she was supposed to work out of. After no reply he decided to let himself in. He did need his equipment back, after all.

What he saw in there changed him. Blood and bones lined the walls. This wasn't art. This was... something else.

Lying in the middle stood the creation, a 'dragon', half complete. Bits of flesh sewn together like patchwork.

Leaving, silently, making sure to erase all signs of his presence, he stumbled home.

This 'artist' was no dragon. It was doing something horrible. And it had to be stopped.

Opal
Opal heard the story from his brother, Mechina . A demon had taken root in this town, and was living in an abandoned workshop on the outskirts of town.

It was in that shed that something terrible was happening. And he was going to stop it.

Clad in armor, he knocked on the door. No response. Silently he pushed the door open, and was greeted by the sight that had been described in detail by Mechina through choked sobs.

It was even worse in person, that thing lying on the table, blood bones sinew muscle organs scales, all organized in a way that crudely represented a dragon. Incomplete.

However this time there was something new. On the table, engrossed in her work, the demon sat with her back facing the door, trying to join muscle to bone.

Opal did not allow fear to enter his heart. This had to be done quickly.

Without making a sound, without breathing, he drew closer to that back. All that could be heard was the clicking of bone to bone.

She was only a small abberation. It was over quick.

Careena had a large heart. A heart that was so large it would lead to her downfall.

Every living thing contains some evil, and some good. She had always believed it was a choice whether you see the good or bad in a dragon's heart. And every time, she chose to see the good, even if she had to search hard for it.

She knew it was dangerous, she knew that approaching this dragon could end in her demise. But she also knew there was no way she could walk away and abandon this poor creature.

Scoril and... friends Scoril was the first creation of Artist. His shining wings and sparkling body made him quite popular, so he never had a shortage of friends. He would go to school clubs, do sports, study. Just like any other dragon. But he knew deep down, he wasn't the same as the others. He felt disconnected, unsure of why other dragons seemed so happy when they won a match, or upset when they failed a test. And he didn't know why he had no parents at home, like all the other dragons seemed to. There was only one thing that gave him any sense of feeling. It wasn't love, competition, or loss. Although unsure of why he felt the need to do it, all he knew is he could never tell another soul. Ever. Focusing her eyes on the taget way out infront of her, she blocked out everything but that golden circle she had to hit. There weren't many dragons who could hear their own heartbeat, but she was able to silence the world around her until she could hear the blood rushing past her ears. There was nothing else. Just her and this arrow. The rest of the world didn't matter. She fired in-between heart beats. The arrow soared through the air and hit, dead on target. From the side her archery partner said cooly to her "You had your eyes shut again. You're more lightly to miss that way." "But I don't." She smirked back. "You did last week, when I didn't." Scoril replied. It was so matter-of-fact it almost annoyed her. He wasn't bragging, just saying the truth. But she would never let herself get riled up. An archer needs a cool mind. [/columns]----- Julian [columns]Julian was, like most of her siblings, sent to a normal school disconnected from her royal heritage. But she couldn't wait to come of age and be allowed to take up a position in the palace. It was a rebellious spirit at first that made her go after one of the 'bad boys' at school. Scoril had a dangerous aura about him, that she could sense. She dreamed of presenting him to her father and watching him get angry at her for not getting a proper boyfriend. But over time, her feelings grew towards this dragon. Maybe it would be hard to leave this simple life, after all. Although he was sure he wasn't her only secret admirer - she was a princess, technically, after all - he made every effort to let his love show and make her life as happy as possible. It just broke his heart every time he saw her staring across the room at the dragons who broke the rules, who weren't nice to girls, who... didn't take neat notes. This was the best she had ever been, she had trained months for this and today, she had beaten the school record. So then how, HOW did she get beaten. With her face like stone, a mask concealing his true feelings she lowered her head to the victor, her rival, Scoril. Under her breath she muttered, "How did you do it." Confused, Scoril replied "I just have to do better than you to win, right? So that's what I did." Glitch jerked her head up, and hoped with all her heart that the flames burning in her eyes right now could reach through space to burn Scoril to ash. It only lasted a second before being cut off, but that was enough time for Sylvestrie to bolt. She had heard the rumors, she knew that dragons had been disappearing and dying recently. It wasn't until she had reached the top floor of the library and she had stuffed herself behind a large pile of books that she allowed herself to catch her breath. She wasn't going to be leaving tonight. [/columns]----- Jester [columns] Jester never really had a talent for teaching others. So why then did she decide to become a teacher. In her heart, she knew the answer. She had seen what a troubled childhood could do to a dragon, and wanted to support those who had no support elsewhere. For a long time, she had helped students relentlessly until their problems had been solved. That was until she met with one student. His name was Scoril, and when asked about his parents he said he had none. This confused Jester as someone had signed him up for this school. She had assumed something was wrong at home, so called him in for a private chat. But... every time she had attempted to make him talk about what he does outside of school he went silent, and eventually told her to stop asking. It wasn't until he looked at her with something she could only describe as pure evil did she stop, and let him leave. She couldn't sleep that night. Watching him the next day, he looked happy. But Jester knew there was something residing beneath that surface. For a while she had been too scared to move, to even breathe. But slowly she came to her senses. The police! The police had to be notified. They could do something about this dragon, surely. But in the back of her mind, she knew the police here were no match. Many dragons would die before they got rid of this monster. So instead she turned to other means, something she had been told of long ago. She sent word for them, for help, for a dragon to come along and stop this... this thing. Dragons that have killed a creature like this before. The demon hunters. He spotted him as he left, matching the description of the abberation with a 'mane like flame'. From the school records she had learned his name was Scoril, and had joined the school a year ago. Who knows how many he had killed in that time. He almost didn't want to know. Getting her partner's attention, she pointed him out. That was the target. They would strike tonight. Scoril and... friends

Scoril was the first creation of Artist. After being classed as imperfect, he was enrolled in school and left to go live a 'normal' life... and instructed to never contact Artist.

Scoril

78858085_350.png
CTUvet2.png Scoril went to school, like any other dragon.

Ever.

Scoril's school life

Vital
sH4WSio.png
Vital's breathing stopped as she drew the bowstring back.

You're more lightly to miss that way."

"But I don't." She smirked back.

"You did last week, when I didn't." Scoril replied. It was so matter-of-fact it almost annoyed her. He wasn't bragging, just saying the truth.

But she would never let herself get riled up. An archer needs a cool mind.

Julian
Julian was, like most of her siblings, sent to a normal school disconnected from her royal heritage.

Rayne
jT8ZISF.png
Rayne worked hard at school. He would always pay attention to what the teacher was saying, and would always take neat notes in case anyone wanted to borrow them... In case she wanted to borrow them.

Everyone remembers their first crush. They way they made your heart flutter every time they spoke to you.

Glitch
Glitch's heart blazed in a flame of pride, glory, and... hate. This was the best she had ever been, she had trained months for this and today, she had beaten the school record.

So then how, HOW did she get beaten. With her face like stone, a mask concealing his true feelings she lowered her head to the victor, her rival, Scoril.

Under her breath she muttered, "How did you do it."

Confused, Scoril replied "I just have to do better than you to win, right? So that's what I did."

Glitch jerked her head up, and hoped with all her heart that the flames burning in her eyes right now could reach through space to burn Scoril to ash.

Sylvestrie
EGVhqae.png
Sylvestrie sighed as she closed the book she had been reading. Looking around she realized that she must be the last dragon in the library, and that it was much later than she had thought.

But as she got up to leave, she heard a noise, a crash. Scared, but also concerned, she moved towards the window the sound had emanated from.

Outside was pitch black. She couldn't see a thing.

Then a scream cut through the air, shrill and panicked.

Jester
Jester never really had a talent for teaching others.

How it ended...

Prim
AmZGls9.png
Prim had seen it. She had seen it all. An abberation with a mane like fire, transforming the street into a river of blood. This thing... was no mortal dragon.

Carminite
Carminite watched the dragons pour out of the school, talking about their day, plans for later, complaining about homework. Just another day, another ordinary school full of ordinary students.

But he knew that among them lurked something evil.

GtF0quR.png

Welue
mci7K8L.png
Welue stoof before the dragon as it hissed at him, backed into a corner. With those injuries any normal dragon would be dead, but this was no ordinary dragon.

It was a demon.

Not the first she had seen, and for sure not the last. Although it was never easy seeing another living thing in pain, she knew this one had hurt many innocent dragons. This thing deserved to die.

Looking in its eyes, she saw the hate it held towards her, the one who was going to end its life. But she also saw fear, and pain. Confusion as to why this was happening.

She decided to end things quick. There was no use for this sort of suffering.

Giving the signal, her partner Carminite swooped down from above and cleaved its head straight off. It was over.

This wasn't the first time a shark had attacked a resident of the town, but last time Caspian had been there to save them. Jumping into her boat, she quickly paddled over to where the source of blood was emanating from. But although there was no dragon, alive or dead, there were signs that something had been here. The shark lay, ripped in half. Its tail already being picked at by scavengers as its head lay washed up on the beach. What could do this? Why would you go so far... Un, Deux, Trois

After her first 2 creations were unsatisfactory, Artist decided to improve on one idea until it was perfect. This led to her creating 3 demons, very similar to each other. Their names were Dye, Redu, and Trois.
Unfortunately none of these managed to reach perfection, so were again sent out. They took refuge together, in an abandoned house.

Dye
78569778_350.png
vAeQJAzg_o.png
Dye, the first

Dye was the worst. The worst. Out of her siblings she stuck out - wrong gender, wrong genes, wrong everything. But that was ok.

She liked being the worst, it meant there was no expectations of her, she could do whatever she wanted with no one to disappoint.

Besides, it made sense the was the worst... she was the first after all. The trial run, so to speak. After making her, her creator would only improve on her previous work to make her better, bigger, more perfect siblings.

So yes, she had always been told by them that she was a failure, but she have one thing to be proud of. She was the best at being the worst.

Redu

Redu, the second

It wasn't long after Redu had first opened his eyes before he was kicked out, sent to live in a house on the edge of town, and told not to make trouble.

He wasn't made to be kept. The whole reason for him being created was a stepping stone for something greater. And although he never once felt love from his creator, for some reason it still hurt to be disregarded and thrown out once they started working on their new project.

The small, dark house was where he spent most of his time, stuck there with his siblings. Other failures. All of them somewhere between life and death, different from the dragons they saw walking outside.

Even though they looked the same, they were so different. Redu was desperate to know what made him and them so different.

It surprised him to see the same blood and organs that had surrounded him when he was made.

Trois
78569776_350.png
ooJyEwG.png
Trois, the third

Trois was not perfection. In this world, perfection did not exist, he knew that now. He had been lied to.

He was admired by his creator for a long time, told to sit still for hours as he was studied and admired. Until it was time to put him on display.

His first few steps into sunlight hurt, but he didn't let that stop him. Since the moment of his creation he had been told he was the most beautiful dragon yet. But once he stepped outside, and saw the dragons surrounding him on all sides, he knew that he was not special.

Although he had been carefully handcrafted over months, these dragons were plentiful, born from eggs made with minimum effort. If anything, he was average.

Angry at his creator for lying to him, he fled. Joined his siblings, the failed creations. But to him, they were as perfect as they needed to be.

So he set to work, blessing and chanting. Brewing and crafting. Putting all the pieces in place ready for the final spell.

But when he cast it, he knew. He had made a huge mistake.

The fault was not in his methods, or skill, or talent. His mistake was thinking this evil was one from his textbooks. That this evil was one that had been seen and recorded before.

Sometimes, new magic enters this world. It may be good, it may be evil.

Mieru knew at that moment, he was not the one to deal with it.

Dragons with lore up for adoption
The Butcher Down the Road Ezequiel was the first creation of Jadenal. She was pleased with what she had made, and told him to go get a job and become a normal dragon in this town. It wasn't until later that she found out the horrible things he was doing, during his job as a butcher. Using dragon meat instead of animals. He didn't see it as wrong. After all, meat is meat... [columns] [nextcol] Ezequiel slammed the cleaver down on the counter, splitting bone from bone, flesh from flesh. Then, carefully wrapping it in paper, he handed it to the customer waiting in front of him. For some reason he enjoyed meat, cutting up a carcass and preparing it. Of course it was only natural he would become a butcher. Although it was tough; Ezequiel started from nothing, quite literally. Early on he decided raising animals for their meat would be too expensive, so he resigned himself to hunting. However, what he hunted wasn't always out in the woods. Sometimes his meat was much more... local... [/columns] ----- Customers, and victims ----- Lacey [columns] [nextcol]Lacey lazily floated through the air, along the streets, enjoying the afternoon sun. Days like this were her favourite. Arriving in the square she had a quick look around before setting to work. Visiting each stall in turn, she carefully collected all the ingredients she would need. After entering the butchers, she greeted Ezequiel with a familiar smile, and a sneaky wink. Returning the wink, he headed to the back and returned with a prized piece of meat. With a squeal of joy, Lacey quickly hugged him, before paying him handsomely for the special produce he had set aside just for her. Now laded down with everything she needed, she returned home. Her feasts were the talk of the town. It was time to get cooking. [/columns]----- Charin [columns]Charin had grown tired of seafood. That was all he had ever eaten growing up, and his father had always reprimanded him when he complained, saying "This is what coatls eat". But he had always yearned for something more, so when he finally left his lair to start a new life he started cooking his own meals. Unfortunately... it didn't taste very good. He could never get the taste right; the meat was overcooked, the vegetables wilted, and for some reason he always ended up adding too much salt. Dejected, he was about to return to his stable diet of fishes, clams, sharks and other sea creatures, when something caught his attention. A certain scent had wafted over from his neighbour's garden. After investigating, he saw the source of the smell; a large table had been set out, laden with all kinds of tasty looking meals. It seems a party was about to begin. But even better than all of that, he noticed something else. A big smile from inside his neighbour's house - she had spotted him. After a quick introduction, Charin explained that he had never smelt food so good before. And after he tried it, it changed his life. It seems all you really need to make good food is a good teacher. And Lacey was the perfect one. [nextcol] [/columns]----- Bellina [columns] [nextcol] A familiar voice called out to Bellina in the night. It was one she recognised, but she wasn't sure from where. But surely, there was no reason to doubt it. Deep in this night, walking home, the voice reminded her of daylight. Of her normal life, visiting shops in the town, running errands and living her perfectly ordinary life. So of course, she moved towards it. Wanting to be out of the cold, dark night. Drawing closer, she finally recognised where she was. The voice was the local butcher, who she visited every week. That's why she didn't find it unusual that he was holding a cleaver - it was a sight she was used to. It wasn't until he raised it above his head that she felt something was wrong. [/columns]----- His Downfall ----- Kat [columns] Kat prowled along the back alleys, pretending to be one of those spies for the royal family she had heard about from her friends at school. Sneaking looks into dragon's back windows, looking for clues that one of them could be an enemy of their kingdom, she always managed to stay out of sight and hidden. Looking back at her sister, who looked bored as always, she hissed at her to keep low and out of sight. Working with a partner seemed harder than working alone, but she knew that Kit was good in a fight. Crawling along to the next house, she poked her head up and peeked into the back room. Then, with a startled yelp, fell back onto the grass below. She had found one, she had found an enemy of their country. This must be it. After all, who else would keep a severed dragon's head on their kitchen counter. [nextcol] [/columns]----- Kit [columns] [nextcol] Kit stood, wide eyed, barely able to breath. What lay infront of them was not only a crime scene, but a place of danger. Grabbing her sister by the tail she started to drag her away. If they stayed there or were caught by the owner of that house, they could end up like that dead dragon too. Kat struggled, insisting that they have to investigate more, that this was what spies did. But Kit knew that this was more than some make believe that the sisters spent their days acting out. This was no longer a game. [/columns]----- Bloodpool [columns]When he had heard what this job would be, he was a little surprised for sure, but something like this wouldn't shake him. Bloodpool had been working in the darkest parts of society his whole life, and knew that the darkness of dragon's hearts knew no bounds. Stepping into the butcher's he casually looked around. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but after working as an investigator for years he could feel something was... off... Buying a normal cut of meat, he headed back home to inspect. After picking up the meat and studying the bone, he drew in a sharp inhale of breath. The was no doubt. This was the femur of a female obelisk. This was dragon meat. The Butcher Down the Road

Ezequiel was the first creation of Jadenal. She was pleased with what she had made, and told him to go get a job and become a normal dragon in this town.
It wasn't until later that she found out the horrible things he was doing, during his job as a butcher. Using dragon meat instead of animals.
He didn't see it as wrong. After all, meat is meat...

78440991_350.png
hx09s4d.png Ezequiel slammed the cleaver down on the counter, splitting bone from bone, flesh from flesh.

Sometimes his meat was much more... local...

Customers, and victims

Lacey
zPODeso.png
Lacey lazily floated through the air, along the streets, enjoying the afternoon sun.

Charin
Charin had grown tired of seafood.

Bellina
rKIpdpn.png
A familiar voice called out to Bellina in the night.

His Downfall

Kat
Kat prowled along the back alleys, pretending to be one of those spies for the royal family she had heard about from her friends at school.

After all, who else would keep a severed dragon's head on their kitchen counter.
njm79qB.png

Kit
CDoBeW9.png
Kit stood, wide eyed, barely able to breath.

Bloodpool
When he had heard what this job would be, he was a little surprised for sure, but something like this wouldn't shake him.

After reporting his findings to the police who hired him, he lazily made his way back to the market square and watched the people enter the butchers. They left with bags full of meat, ready to eat.

Well... he thought... What they don't know can't hurt them.

The Demon of the Waste Tabu was the next creation of Jadenal. He was only half completed when he escaped. Jadenal had tried to create something too big, too wild for even her to handle. He was left with half a heart and half a brain. With nothing else to guide him, he succumbed to his demonic instincts. Living a few miles outside of town, in the mountains, he killed anything he saw that moved. [columns] [nextcol] The wind rushed past the mountains, a gale force that would blow away any small dragon. But Tabu was no small dragon. Poking his head out his den, he saw them. A pair of dragons sheltering behind a tree, a few miles away. Mouth watering, he pulled his large body out of the cave, stepping over bones licked clean that had piled up over the past few months he had been there. Tabu had never known love, warmth, or comfort. It at least looked uninhabited from where he was. He hadn't seen any other dragon or settlement in the past hour. Plus, the fields that lay all around him seemed as if they could make good soil for crops. Pulling out his notebook and quill he attempted to write down how many trees he could count from this side of the mountain, but the wind was so strong he was unable to get anything down. He would just have to remember it - but that was his job after all. Noting that he had a few hours of sunlight left, Agate decided to head back and tell the mayor about this surveying experiment. It was certainly possible that the farmers could add some farms out here. But then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw movement. A dragon? It was surely something big. With a sigh, he started heading towards where thought he had seen the dragon. If there was a clan here, he would have to talk to them at some point anyway. He just hoped they would be friendly. But this dragon was not friendly at all. In fact, he had no intention of speaking to this ridgeback that had shown up on his hunting land. That dragon only saw one thing - a fresh meal. Agate never returned home that night. [/columns]----- Sarah [columns] Sarah hesitated outside of her sisters room, unsure of whether to enter or not. She knew what she had found was AMAZING, but it did give her creepy vibes. And she had been told not to play that far away from their home. But after about a minute of deliberation she knew there was no way she could keep this a secret anymore. Bursting into Clara's room she told her everything. It was some sort of den, far out in the mountains. She had found it by a trail of bones, skulls of small animals and such. Inside was much bigger than you would have thought looking in. And she was just desperate to go back - it could be the perfect hiding place. Plus, all the skeletons inside were just awesome! It would be the sister's new hideout, for sure. The light from the sun shone in the cave, but not very far. They would be in darkness within seconds once they entered. But these sisters were brave. Carefully they flew in, careful not to make a sound. However Clara couldn't help but gasp once they reached the main cave. It was just as Sarah had said - bones covered the floor, so many to choose from. Immediately she picked up the skull or something with horns, knowing it would be perfect for her collection. With a big smile on her face, she showed it to Sarah and they both giggled in glee. But their laughing didn't last long. Clara had just spotted something. It was a fresh corpse, covered in blood. She pointed it out to Sarah, who didn't seem to care much, saying there had been corpses last time, too. But Clara was smarter than that. That meant that whatever had killed all those things was still around, still lived here. They had to get out, and fast. Before whatever it was came back. It was meat, rotting meat. But the smell was much stronger than anything he had ever experienced before. Seabreeze hesitated. This could be something dangerous - there wasn't many things that produced such a strong scent of death. But he knew that he couldn't ignore it. There was something there, and something bad. The Demon of the Waste
Tabu was the next creation of Jadenal.

FSF78Ht.png The wind rushed past the mountains, a gale force that would blow away any small dragon.

In fact, he hadn't really known anything other than kill and eat. He didn't know why he was here, and never cared to.

All he knew was that he wanted to kill. And soon, that was all those two poor dragons would know as well.
