Biography

The Sunset Pilgrim
I am lonely, and smell of rotting dust. Basecamp: Absent (Travelling) Sarkan finds his element is humming with the Mistral Jamboree. The Plague Winds have risen, and he has taken to the skies. |
|
Wanderer, explorer, gatherer Sarkan has been traveling the Abiding Boneyard for some time now. What, precisely, he is trying to find even he cannot seem to recall. Perhaps it has something to do with the story he heard—that a particular vicious snapper had died—but none of the tales he has heard have quite satisfied him. He is, as well, loath to meet his rumored killer, the Speckled Bear. His wanderings, with their lack of clear purpose, have formed a sort of trial or ordeal for him, and perhaps that is his purpose. Sarkan was hatched a tundra, but whatever boon of Windsinger or Plaguebringer transformed him adapted him fully into a strange mirror. Elemental Status Sarkan's Wind is particularly strong, a gift from his first Mistral Jamboree. While he shows little to no visible signs of this, there is usually some form of little breeze about him, even on still days. His connection waxes and wanes without evident pattern, dipping to normal levels and climbing to levels that allow him to slip effortlessly, winglessly, through the air. Somewhat grim for a Wind dragon, Sarkan nevertheless has something of a gift for storytelling, and enjoys pursuing interest information and events for eventual retelling. He has accrued quite a few during his recent wanderings; and when his thoughts turn back to his home clan, he finds a sharp yearning to share them. Physical description Sarkan is large and short-winged, but curiously light-weight. Despite his odd proportions he is an excellent flier—fast, agile, and tireless. His native Wind is strong enough to allow him to hover in place, the duration of which depends on his present strength. On land, he is somewhat more awkward, but is capable of a rapid trot. The feathers adorning his wings are natural to him, and grow and shed as his element strengthens or wanes. |
|
Origin Sarkan hails from a clan of the Reedcleft Ascent. Disorganized and purposeless, they are united more by their colors than by any leadership or aim, and appear to have lapsed into hibernation after his departure. His time since then, in Northslope Clan, has been quiet—a background presence neither presenting his own troubles nor interfering in others. There are a few rumors that, somehow, whether through reincarnation or some other means, Sarkan lived in the Scarred Wasteland before... but such things seem improbable, at best. |
|
Kin Sarkan's ancestry is unremarkable, dominated largely by plentifuls—particularly guardians and tundras. His father, a tundra, is Exalted to Windsinger, while his pearlcatcher mother remains in his hatching-clan, hibernating. Both are Light dragons. Sarkan has two children of his own with Tanbo. Both are Exalted—one to Flamecaller, and the other to Icewarden. |
Familiar
The hopping fish is a native of the marshy fringes of the Wandering Contagion. Sarkan discovered it in his wanderings, and has adopted it as a sort of pet. He finds its hopping habits amusing, a welcome diversion from his personal trials.Sarkan is on loan from Northslope clan in exchange for Kavalia.
