"they say i'm just like my name, short-tempered and spicy."
speziato is infamously known for his lack of patience and tolerance to others. he snaps at people over the most seemingly random things, but few realize that he was just brought up this way. his well intentioned remarks come off as harsh, and his work as a leatherworker causes his workspace to be littered with nails and dangerous objects-- he can't afford others to enter his room and get seriously injured. nonetheless, when he's not fuming at someone, you can find him enjoying a drink and reading a book beside fusa.

the sound of metal tools scraping against each other.

a young speziato gazes longingly at the piles and piles of material laid out on the table. he watches as his mentor weighs the amount of gold he was handed and nods to his client, before the customer walks out of the store with a satisfied look on their face.

"speziato, would you like to learn how to use leather?"

through his life, did speziato never once regret saying yes to that question. countless injuries from mishandling, a near-death from carelessness, being barked at to keep up with the relentless demands of customers, and most of all, having to deal with unreasonable requests-- he toughed through it all.

"speziato, you've learnt much."

he sat beside his mentor's bed, watching as the dragon's breathing get slower and shallower.

"you've taught me much, sir."

a smile forms on his mentor's face. a faint memory of a young speziato looking at him flickers across his mind, and he closes his eyes. speziato does the same, and he catches a faint whiff of burnt leather, iron tools, and nostalgia fills his entire being.

"thank you."
