Biography
Origin
She hatched alone in a bamboo garden on the Windswept Plateau, and even as the eggshell crushed beneath her tiny claws, she knew her purpose in life with a strength that would make a Guardian jealous. Ria's earliest memories are of keeping the fieldmice safe from wild cats around her makeshift nest, often risking her own safety to do so. Even as a hatchling, she was a deeply nurturing dragon, and her greatest desire has always been to protect the people around her. She would, in fact, make that very thing her life's work.
Personality
A natural caregiver and an empathetic friend, the dragons around her always find her comforting and friendly. She rarely talks about her own emotions, preferring to put other's needs before her own, but this does sometimes lead to her getting in too deep; she's only one small dragon, after all. Torr tries to help her avoid burnout, but sometimes she overextends herself. She also has a habit of worrying excessively; when she notices this happening, she likes to take a while to just fly around the outer edges of the University.
Clan Relationship
In her quest to make a safe haven for all dragons in need, she founded the Windswept University, a swirling structure of balloons above a high, sunny hill. It's quickly become known as a place of great study, perhaps one of the best in Wind territory, and always an excellent stop for travelers, or dragons in danger for whatever reason. It is often possible to see scraps of parchment, accidentally dropped, floating down to the mountains below on the warm breezes. Ria vowed when she founded the University that it would be a place of total peace, creative energy and emotional healing unobstructed by petty rivalry.
Clan Role
Ria doesn't consider herself a traditional "alpha", as her desire is to safeguard the dragons of the University, instead of being a strict leader. Her clanmates see her more as a mother, or an older sister; she thinks of herself as the Dean of the University, when she thinks about it.
Despite her personality, she isn't usually responsible for hatchlings or young dragons; she's too busy overseeing the University and welcoming newcomers.
Mate & Family
Her mate is Torr, with whom she has several hatchlings. Despite being a stoic Guardian, Torr is one of the only dragons Ria finds herself opening up to. She relies on him for her own feeling of safety and comfort, the same she provides for the University students.
Ria deeply loves all of her hatchlings; however, she sometimes finds she doesn't have as much time for each of them as she'd like.
