Zenitta is a bubbly soul, wide-eyed and curious about the world around him. He’s seen a large chunk of Sornieth and met hundreds of souls on his travels, but he retains so little of it; everything was so new! How could anyone expect him to remember their name when he just learned what a Longneck is, a coatl, a hat? He’s a black hole for information and stimuli and lacks almost entirely in social graces, much like a puppy. A blight nymph mumbles in his ear; he’s never mentioned what Whisper says to him, but most people figure it’s nothing good.

Zenitta was formed when some wild Plague magic, frolicking through the Abiding Boneyard, saw a dragon. It decided that looked like fun, so it tried to also be a dragon. The result would send even the toughest Wyrmwound patrols on the retreat, and so it did, many times. Eventually the magic had a pretty good idea of what a dragon should actually look like, so it tried again. And again. And over again, until it wore a passable impression of a pearlcatcher. Then it hitched a ride with a travelling nomadic clan on to, literally, greener pastures. They asked it for a name, and it came up with ‘Zenitta.’ He had become not just wild magic, but a naturally-occurring elemental spirit. indentZenitta was enamored with the wider world and even more with dragonkind; he learned how to manipulate his form to fit in better and better. He made his way to the Southern Icefield, which he did not like; he met a ridgeback named Avel, whom he liked very much, as well as a guardian called Aleksas, who treated Zenitta like family. Zenitta had never had a family before. indentThen the mountain fell, and Avel died, and all the rest of Zenitta’s new home was gone. He fled to the gaolers, but they tried to freeze him in ice, so he decided to be a mermaid and live in the ocean. He was able to do so, but as a fully-fledged spirit it was exhausting to not be a dragon. When the mountain stopped rumbling he emerged and did his best to be a dragon again; he looks different than he once did, but that doesn’t matter so much to a being like him.
