It was unlike Hafwen and Acheron’s children to be looked after as they grew. Typically the pair left their eggs hidden, the survival of their offspring left up to the whims of fate. This time, however, was different. Moondore’s pack watched over the twins and crafted them a nest of thick pelts within one of the castle’s old bedrooms. It was a moon when Alabaster had no offspring of her own and instead, she took to caring for her grandchildren. Still, the pack knew better than to pamper even the youngest of their members. Before they had fallen to the curse, the occupants of Moondore had been great protectors - skilled warriors and hunters collected by the twin mages who once ruled the palace. Certainly, they still retained their skills and they trained the children relentlessly. By the time they were adolescents, both Valkyrie and Huldra were skilled in many disciplines. It was their choice to eventually leave Moondore and seek their own paths in the world. Certainly, they would wreak havoc as their abilities made them deadly and the curse instilled them with a great hunger.

Official Moonbeast Coloration: Alpha Moonbeast (Standard) Moon at Birth: Full Moon Similar to werewolves, Moonbeasts undergo a Moon-influenced transformation. However, there are major differences. All have a permanent beast-like appearance and by night they 'lose control' becoming savage, bloodthirsty, and destructive. The degree to which they lose control depends on the phase of the moon. Physical features such as claws, fangs, and muscular build might become more pronounced and exaggerated as the moon phase progresses towards Full. Some Moonbeasts have worked so hard to discipline themselves that they only lose complete control on nights of a Full Moon. Something about Light is protective, and Light Moonbeasts have the strongest natural ability in gaining and keeping control. This can make them prideful. However, Light is also revealing and brings unresolved issues to the surface. If Light Moonbeasts don’t deal with their personal issues, their Uncontrolled self might do so for them. Sadly many have, at some point, woken up to dead family, ex-lovers, old enemies, etc. |
