She was born for the stage. At least, that’s what Facade has always told her.

But Vallestreya doesn’t enjoy the spotlight, the crowds, the lights. She dances in twirls of smoke and mist--transforming from a stunning skydancer into a breathtakingly, beautiful wolf--in some of the most enchanting performances…but her heart is never in it. She longs for life beyond the city. In the open expanse of the glacier, beneath the spirit lights that swirl in the sky. Like the moon, that freedom always hangs just beyond reach. She knows all too well the gilded cage she lives in, just like her father.

And like him, she longs to be free.

Some spirits are not meant to be chained or locked away.

With every performance, she wishes for a different life. Every movement she takes is choreographed, perfectly crafted to dazzle the show. A kitsune princess trapped away, always vying to be free...if only they knew how true it was. And like the character in the story, always trying to escape, Viy's heart knows all to well that endless struggle. And as she flings herself into every movement–wolf, dragon, kitsune alike–she wishes she was brave enough to try it for real.

To run. To escape.

To find out who she truly is meant to be.

Because surely there has to be more to a life than masks and charades, glass prisons and curses?
