Ehrde is a descendant of the cave-dwelling Fatel and Scion, daughter of Owro and Whirlwind. She grew up deep within the rock and soil of Sornieth in the tunnels built by her ancestors. As a hatchling, she was a quiet imperial, although kind of clumsy. She wasn't very good at mining, which is funny as mining is just swinging a pickaxe, and often lingered near the storytellers and scholars within the cave-dweller labyrinth.
As Ehrde grew older, she watched as her siblings Marvolo and Solar left for their own lives elsewhere. She was happy for them, she truly was. Her mother Whirlwind left the labyrinth as well, and this made her mildly upset. She spent several days lingering near the entrance where her mother had left until her father Owro finally convinced her to leave her post. Her mother had gone out to serve the Earthshaker. She would not be returning home.
Although still saddened by this, Ehrde began to pass her time by helping her father Owro with his small makeshift coffee and treats shop. She wasn't skilled at making the food or drinks, but she did make a decent salesperson and could handle treasure exchanges.
One day, Ehrde and her father met a rare visitor to the labyrinth. A small, kind of quirky little fae by the name of Nabokov found his way into the labyrinth purely by chance, as he had definitely not gotten lost. Apparently, he was a messenger for a colony of dragons in Dragonhome called Ataraxia.
Nabokov enjoyed the company of both Ehrde and her father Owro as he rested for a few days in the labyrinth. His stories of Ataraxia convinced Ehrde it was her turn to leave the labyrinth. To her surprise, her father declared he would be going with her. Apparently, it was high time he left to see the surface as well.
So Ehrde and her father accompanied Nabokov back to Ataraxia. It didn't take long for the two of them to find their fit within the colony. Ehrde gained an apprenticeship with the clan's harvester Leyuph, which lead to her finding her true calling in herbalism. She learned everything she could about herbs from books and from Leyuph.
Eventually, Ehrde became Ataraxia's main Herbalist who specialized in herbal remedies for all kinds of ailments She was put in charge of caring for the health and well-being of the dragons of the colony, as well as working alongside Leyuph to collect and store all kinds of plant life for use by the colony.
It was many months after arriving in Ataraxia when Ehrde met Vulcan, a strong-willed fae descended from the colony's shadow founders and a son of the great sage Solaria--who also happened to be the mate to Leyuph, her mentor.
The two bonded, courting each other for quite some time before they laid their first clutch of hatchlings. Ehrde was a nervous new mom, but Vulcan's patient care and loving tendencies calmed her nerves. That and her father Owro was never far away, ready to dote on his daughter and his future grand-dragons.
The pair's first nest eventually hatched and brought three amazing little fae lads into the world: Aen, Sani, and Naalas. Descendants of two strong lines of dragons, these three had an amazing prospect for life and spent the first days of their life showered with love from their parents and their grandpa Owro.
