Ataraxia

Location: Parched Canyonwalks
Nestled within the yawning chasms that fracture the landscape of Dragonhome, the colony of Ataraxia thrives. Having worked tirelessly to carve a stable home of twisting cave systems out of the earth, this colony is well protected from the dangers of this landscape. Led by 4 strong-willed individuals, Ataraxia is a haven for those needing a place to call their own. Ever-expanding and making more room to live and work together as one.

Lord Loki and Lady Eris hail from the cursed and murky Tangled Wood, and were the original founders of this thriving colony. They brought dragons of all walks together in the Driftwood Drag, until one fateful day. The fae pair met the strong-willed, and equally strong-bodied, Lord Sedge and Lady Veka, who also led their own small colony within the Greatwyrm's Breach of Dragonhome. The two pairs talked over many weeks and months, messnger dragons working tirelessly to communicate between the colonies.

Eventually, an accord was struck and the two sets of leaders decided it would be best to merge clans. There was safety in more numbers, after all. It was determined that the colony Lady Eris and Lord Loki were in the leadership of would move from the Tangled Wood to join their new brethren in Dragonhome.

The combined colonies, now known as the colony of Ataraxia, settled within the Parched Canyonwalks where they still reside today.

When Lady Eris and Lord Loki brought their colony to Dragonhome, they were unaware they also brought unexpected guests. The eccentric and mildly spooky members of the Circus of Mist followed the small shadow colony to Dragonhome. It turned out that many of the dragons from the original shadow colony had ties to this circus and the Ringleader Blair was reluctant to separate those who reside within her troupe from their families.

As the Circus of Mist was known for trickery and trouble, the lords and ladies of Ataraxia were reluctant to allow the troupe to stay. However, after much debate and speaking to the families of these troublemaking dragons, it was decided the Circus of Mist could stay within the cave system.

A portion of the cave was dedicated to the Circus of Mist who, to this day, are not officially affiliated with Ataraxia. They are their own entity and do not answer to the lords and ladies of Ataraxia. Though the path to the Circus of Mist is blocked off for the safety of the colony, there are still dragons young and old alike who make their way to the Circus of Mist from time to time.
