Biography
Won in CeriothOfCinders' Scry to Win contest 4/26/23!
Still needs:
I considered naming him "Burnish," but "Blazon" is just what stuck with me as I left it to simmer at the back of my mind. :)
Fandragon
Sure, I made him into an actual character too, but he's also a fandragon of the signature attack from Ike from the Fire Emblem video game series (you may also know him from Super Smash Bros.) That's right: the attack, not Ike himself.
Originally, Ike's signature attack was just called "Aether," but then, in Fire Emblem Awakening, the attack was also given to Chrom and Lucina. So, Intelligent Systems (the company which produces the Fire Emblem games) took Ike's final smash from Super Smash Bros and made it his signature attack: Great Aether.
In the attack, blue flames roar all around while Ike attacks with his weapon. As a final smash, he attacks not only with Ragnell (the gold-bladed sword he uses in various titles) but also with punches and kicks. In Fire Emblem Engage, he can bestow the use of Great Aether on characters "engaged" with him (it's like they both possess the same body at the same time, combining their strength) and it is his strongest attack. During its use in Engage, blue flames erupt from the ground upon contact, and blaze all about. (Inspiration for this effect may have also come from his "eruption" attack in Super Smash Bros.)
AS SUCH his secondary color/gene represents the gold-colored metal of Ragnell's blade, while his Sapphire Flaunt and Teal Whiskers are meant to look like blue flames. That he has the fire element only makes it more perfect. So, there you go: a really Great Aether.
Character
His wings are a burnished metal unlike any found on Sornieth. The coarse threads which make up the tuft on his tail are flexible strands of the same material. His "fur" is actually blue flames burning continuously at a gentle rate, and his whiskers are trails of fire. That said, he is capable of causing the rate of flare in his "fur" flames to increase. Ordinarily, these flames put off no heat, but if he wishes them to, they can burn hot indeed, and even increase in volume or shoot off in plumes from his body.
Where he came from is unclear, especially as he cannot recall it for himself. The furthest back he can remember, he was walking along in Sornieth, completely aware of his abilities, but with no knowledge of his past.
