Biography
All her life Cressida felt like an outsider. Her mother and father were part of a large pirate crew called the Diamond Sailors, famous for terrorizing the Starfall Isles and causing chaos wherever they landed. To say that the young Pearlcatcher's life was wrought with instability would be an understatement. Though protected by the crew, she had seen more battles, heists, and new territories than most dragons had seen in their entire lives. And while most dragons dreamed of a life of adventure like this, Cressida never shared that itch. She wasn't filled with a desire to spend the rest of her days moving around without any purpose. More than anything, she wanted stability - to set down roots and spend her days integrating herself into an established community. Eventually, once she was an adult, she left the pirate ship she had lived on for so long, and went searching for a place she could call "home".
Her travels took her to the Corrupted Port, a hub of scientists and archeologists who had settled in a dead land in an attempt to study and restore it. She had heard her parents and elders talk about it from time to time in passing, and decided to see what this place was like. However she quickly found that this was no home. The land was too dangerous, and filled with serious scientists and shady nobles alike, whose intentions she could not truly decipher. Disappointment filled her as she wondered exactly where she could really find a safe place to settle.
Her despondency didn't go unnoticed, especially by the nobility of the land, bored busybody Imperials whose curiosities about the newcomer lead to a shocking revelation. There was a Guardian who recently left their home, descended from one of their own lineage, filled with the blood of royals. He had gone to make his own clan in the Shifting Expanse, to grow his own royal family. And Cressida, who had been looking for some place to settle, could join him. For both her parents had once been nobility before pirates, and their land had been destroyed much like the Guardian's. They were very alike, the Imperials noted. Perhaps they could build a large clan of their own, together.
Cressida was intrigued, and following directions, found her way to a luxurious castle where the Guardian, named Sebastian stayed. She was surprised to see his castle devoid of life despite its grandeur, and making up her mind, sought to help him, as queen, to rebuild their long lost kingdoms.
