Biography

Dust stirred from the stone floor, tickling the Guardian's nose and causing an unseemly sneeze. He groaned in annoyance, but didn't bother to pat the clinging layer off his clothes. There was still so much of this castle to explore yet. It'd be useless to try and clean right now. This settlement was long since abandoned, half-destroyed by the previous denizens and once most everything of value had been ruined or pilfered, left to rot. A scowl formed on the Guardian's face as he imagined what state of splendor the castle used to be in, and what a waste it was to let it be forgotten.

Though, for Sebastian, this wasn't any random castle he had chosen to settle in. No, this was his birthright. Long ago his grandparents had established this once beautiful foundation to rule over and prosper in. Then...something happened, and it all came crashing down, most of his relatives killed, or fleeing to the four winds to start their own lives. All of whom washed their hands of their royal bloodline and decided to never look back.

Everyone except him.

It was obvious Sebastian was never supposed to find out his heritage. The direct grandson of royal clan progenerators, the descendant of a legendary warrior who's strength and fame coursed through his veins...

...And the great grandson of the very deific Imperials his own father worked for!

His father was a king! By bloodright! Why was he serving royalty when he himself was one? And putting himself in harm's way as a royal guardsman, no less! And yet his father had cast it all aside, never letting Sebastian know the roots that he had come from.

It wasn't until one of the Imperials, Pink, the most mischievous of their court, a little tipsy on whatever plum-colored liquid she was indulging in at the moment, had found him one evening, and let spill everything about his legacy. At first Sebastian was flabbergasted. Nothing up until this point had hinted that himself and the gaudy Imperial shared any of the same blood, but when, with a playful grin, she told him about his own father's royal blood, he found himself reeling.

He had to see if it was true.

And to his horror it was.

What was he doing here? Serving people and living in the common life of the son of a guard captain? Simon seemed to wash his hands of his past, unhappy to have the secret finally revealed, and giving his son less information that he desired. The discussion soon turned into a heated debate, and then to an all-out argument.

That was the last straw. Maybe his father didn't want to revive his legacy, but he did. After a vague reveal of the location of his grandparents' castle ruins, he set off to the Shifting Expanse. It was in terrible shape, worn from sandy winds and half-rubble from whatever event had destroyed most of his family. But this was his home, his true home, and he would put in every effort to establish his family line once again.

Sebastian shut the door to the dilapidated castle and sighed. It was time to go to work.

---

A year later and through hard work alone, the Guardian had single-handedly repaired the entire castle. It turned out more beautiful than he could imagine, every corner covered in some sort of lavish silk, spun gold, marbled stone, or crystal chandeliers, refracting the sun's harsh light into splendiferous spots of rainbow along the castle walls. This...this was truly home.

But Prince Sebastian had a problem. He had no royal court. He had no progeny. His only family left was spread to the four winds, deceased, or living a comfortable life back at the Corrupted Port.

Well, no matter. Only another minor inconvenience. If he had no family line, he'd just make one himself. Each with more royal blood from other lineages than the last. With satisfaction at his plan, he began to get to work, sending out invitations to others just like him across the lands...

Gen 5 Vitali's Warrior!
Vitali > Jingyi > Nammon > Anderson > Caramel > ME!

Vitali is a guardian dragon with a strong warrior instinct and a desire to protect others. Instead of taking a charge herself, she vowed to have hundreds of descendants to send across Sorienth who are trained and ready to become their own clan protectors. Those from Vitali's bloodline have become part of a large coalition of warrior dragons, devoted to defending their chosen clans as well as sending their own children out into the world to continue the legacy.

Gen Two Royal Family: Pure Progen Line

Val and Lyn -> Simon -> me!

You've encountered a member of the lineage project "A Royal Family"! Descended from one or both of the progenitor dragons Val and Mia (formerly Lyn), members of this family have widely varied experiences of the world around them. With the first members of this bloodline establishing a clan in the Viridian Labyrinth that became a city-state monarchy in the Shifting Expanse, there is a tendency for these dragons to think of themselves as royalty even after the unexplained disaster that led to the destruction of the Greenleaf Court. Later lines and offshoots, especially those who can trace their lineage back to Lark or Simon may not have as strong ties to their royal past but being descended from the rulers of a criminal empire may give them as strong a sense of pride, or potentially shame. Mia's later descendants, from after she changed her identity and fled the court, may have no idea of their lineage whatsoever.

Gen Three Pink's Godlings: The Corrupted Port

Pink >Anderson > Caramel > ME!

Descended from one of a line of ancient and powerful Imperials who claimed the mantle of godhood for their own. Most of the Imperials faded away, either from obscurity or religious purists. Only a few remain, with Pink as the most powerful...and the most hedonistic. Though her kin rarely continue the bloodline, Pink has established her own line of little godlings through her own whimsy. Not many know the machinations of these ancient Deities, but those who carry their bloodline may have a part of play in some large future plan that may change their destiny forever.
