All orders of knights need their support staff—their logisticians, their clerks and accountants, their repairers and maintainers, their cooks and crafters and carriers-of-things. Highest among these ranks in the Golden Order are the attendants. Part servant, part handler, an attendant oversees their knight's travel and lodging, makes sure their equipment is always in perfect condition, and helps guide and succor them during their missions. The best attendants seem to have a sixth sense regarding their charges, knowing what they need before they do.

Prism is one of the best. He saw the passionate intensity of the rising knight Calliope and how her battles wore away at her, and he pulled strings to be assigned to her care. And when her fire began to dim and the weight of the work threatened to crush her spirit, he was the one who convinced her to take a sabbatical (and who used his not-inconsiderable influence in the chapter house to put it through). Because Prism was a warrior himself before he came to work for the Order, and the flowers inked onto his skin cover scars.

» Prism's care for Calliope is neither romantic nor parental; rather, it's like a guardian's for their charge. She's something special in the world, and he'll watch over her until she no longer needs it, whenever that might be.

» Prism knows how things work behind the scenes. He can tell who demonstrates power and who has real power, knows which rocks to turn over and when and how to use words or a blade. (He rarely has to resort to the latter.)

» He's never sentimental; instead, practicality is his love language, often laced with a gentle sarcasm. Truth can be harsh, but its delivery doesn't always need to be.
