As far back as he can remember, Kalle has loved to write. Though his youth was filled with grand works of fiction, some of which he preened up and published as he grew into adulthood, his age has brought with it a fascination with facts. More specifically, as someone who has spent his meager adulthood watching Ancient breeds rise from the ashes, Kalle is fixated on recording their histories – and the stories of individuals who have split from their Clans of origin to spread across Sornieth. After all, many of them find themselves at odds between the Gods they were created to serve, and the lives they long to lead now. Jelane was one of the first Ancients he met personally; she told him her story and woes, and he put them all to paper. He heard her loneliness, her feeling of ostracization and rejection, and extended the offer to open his home to her. Grateful for a place to belong, she agreed, becoming his closest companion and assistant. As he and Jelane interviewed the Gaolers Lachlan and Neo, a meteor collided with the ocean. The four of them rushed to the scene to watch the evacuation of a myriad of Aethers, shocked and awed. Already, many dragons on the surface had started lending a claw, and the group was no exception. In their evacuation efforts, they met Frith, who suffered a mild concussion but otherwise was in one piece. After a few days of recovery, Kalle interviewed her, too. She told him stories of the Astrolab, of their people, and the absurdity of their circumstances in the sky. In time, he and Jelane grew attached, and another invitation was extended to Frith to join their mismatched little group. Moons pass, and word of the Sandsurge Strike makes its' way to Kalle's ears. Immediately, all three of them gear up and head out to the Shifting Expanse to investigate - only to run into a Sandsurge on the way there! They introduce themself as Itura, and share the working conditions the Sandsurge, and surface workers, had suffered. Itura tagged along after their interview, showing a clear artistic skill, and Kalle invited them to be the illustrator for his growing archive of Ancient information. With that, three has become four. The Aberrations have been around for quite a long while by this point. However, it wasn't until now that Kalle had the fortune to encounter one that seemed more inclined to just chat about everything he longed to know. Fidget was a welcome surprise, and addition, to his growing home. That being said, sometimes he feels like the gemini spiritualist seems to deliberately place themself closer to him... It is a little endearing, really. Not only was Nanaimo born in light, but their colours and family professions were so similar that Kalle had half a mind to check and see if their bloodlines ever crossed. Nanaimo has been a wonderful addition to the growing microClan, in his opinion, and he's spent plenty of time writing in the garden since Nanaimo took over curation of the blooms. |
