Biography

Peat is a bogsneak that loves fishing. He built himself a makeshift boat out of various pieces that clearly don’t belong together. It’s a miracle that it even floats. He brings back anything he catches, regardless if it’s food or not. Peat feels like everything has value in some way, shape or form.

When he’s not fishing, he lurks in nearby marshes. He does this when he wants to clear his mind or to simply relax. Whenever he’s making a trip to a marsh, he often invites Burble along with him. Cory helps Peat while he’s fishing and is fiercely protective of him. Which is surprising given how they met. She is friendly to Burble as well as others and loves getting head pats.

Down by the Bay

“Are you sure Raina is ok with you borrowing her test tube?” Burble asked.

“I’m pretty sure it’ll be fine. I’ll just use it as a lure for a little bit, then bring it back.” Peat replied, tying the vial to the end of his hook. The fish inside swam around while peering at them with curious eyes.

He went to the edge of the boat and casted the line. The hook plunged in the water with ease, within a few moments it had suddenly attracted something. Peat hastily reeled it in, revealing a decent sized adamantine sturgeon.

“If you say so…” Burble trailed off, watching as he casted the line yet again. Though something was off. As Peat brought the hook back, a distinct sound was heard.

bloop

Peat paused and reeled the hook back in. The vial was gone and there was now a cloud of shimmering gold spreading through the lake. Peat and Burble stared at each other before looking back at the mess.

Peat launched himself into the water and attempted to find the fish only for something else to appear. Swimming a few inches from his face was a noggle, with bright, green eyes. He tilted his head at it and the noggle did the same, changing her color to a bright yellow.

Peat swam to the surface and hopped back on his raft. “Did you find it?” Burble asked.

“Eh, yes and no. I found the fish, but it’s not a fish anymore.”

Burble tilted his head in confusion, which prompted Peat to continue.

“I think the fish was some type of nogglet and it somehow grew. Y’know, like how you add water to something to make it larger.”

As if on cue, a pair of clawed flippers grasped the edge of the raft. The noggle hauled herself onto the vessel and began to help herself to the sturgeon they caught, much to Burble’s shock. She paused for a moment and smiled at them before continuing to feast.

“I guess this is the catch of the day!” Peat chuckled.
