Darius did not much care for his sister, he saw through Emily's happy exterior
if he could, he avoided her entirely, along with his parents
but as suspicion fell on Emily, it did too on Darius, as it was rumored he was like his sister since they rarely saw him
and almost too good to be true, Emily dangled the possibility of escape before his eyes
he decided to take it, this was becoming almost too much now, but Emily warned him not to tell his parents
he did anyway, as he was suspicious of Emily
and predictably, she abandoned Darius, who had no survival knowledge
he stumbled through the wastelands, barely managing to hang onto life
and then, he heard of Emily's death
he did not miss her, he did not care much, and then one day Emily entered his dreams
she was fully grown and he spotted patches of decay on her scales.
She was still alive.
And so Darius attempted to find his sister, to find how she was alive, to find what she had become
and what had he become through all this suffering?
He did not know, and he did not care; there would be time to care about that later.
