INDIFFERENT • PRIDEFUL • QUIET
Aavaderyat is a creature of darkness, one who was once known as the Harbinger of Death, originating from an alien world that is, or was, comprised of sickly mana that formed a land unsuitable for life. Inhabiting this land were eldritch creatures roaming in an uncanny landscape tinted in dark shades, black, red, gold, and sometimes blue. There was no air, no water, no food, and it was deathly quiet. From here beings of unimaginable forms would be born, and thus grow in this landscape which shaped them. To them, this was the last stop for those who have passed, destined to be reborn here as abominations which would forever roam here, or wreak havoc elsewhere. Aavaderyat is one of these anomalies, being reborn countless times, each birth more powerful than the last, yet the lifespan of his vessels shrink for each and every incarnation. To remedy this, Aavaderyat has communed with a different tribe of demon, requesting longer life, more power, and much more, in exchange for worship. This is how the Devotees have formed. Before his alliance was made with other parts of the demonic world, he was an uncontrolled, mindless beast. Each life he would attempt to rend the world beneath him, though he would die before his destruction was realized. In his early incarnations, many have observed a ghastly being with a thousand tentancles, covering the land in a toxic black substance that would drain the spirits of dragons and beast alike, absorbing their souls to sustain himself. At the point of an incarnations death, he is quickly forgotten, only to arise again to the unknowing. While many do not remember his past lives, he lives on with The Devotees for stability. Through this organization, he has learned to speak, eat, drink, and live as any other dragon. With these newly learned skills, he has become marginally more humane, though still selfish in many regards. For what it's worth, interacting with this incarnation of Aavaderyat is usually safe. He is largely docile, especially to those smaller than him, and disregards most life as too insignificant to deal with. Aavaderyat is incredibly hard to provoke, and he may give several warnings before finally showing aggression. Of course, he is not exactly nice either, while he has many abilities which could help, he would rather not use them, preferring to watch how others handle themselves. Aavaderyat's abilities are as follows.. The ability to detect the souls of living beings and see their form, capable of describing their color, size, texture, and health. The ability to travel between planes, where supernatural creatures such as demons, or the souls of the dead, reside. Telepathy - the ability to read minds. Possession - he can posses vacant bodies, such as the dead, or those whose souls have been stolen. Black shroud - covers a target in a black, burning substance secreted from the thousand tentacles. A highly destructive ability that is capable of eating away at the very earth. It can make stronger enemies, such as other eldritch beings, feel very sick/cause disease. The Soul of the Elder still stirs.. *Credit to EmeraldJubilee Many dragons mistake Aavaderyat's docile tendencies as a sign of him reforming. This is a line of thought perpetuated mostly among the Devotees, and one met with varying responses amidst the group. Some are touched by the idea, and look forward to being endeared to a benevolent eldritch being without realizing such a thing cannot be. Others curl up their lip at such a notion, scorning the thought of a being of chaos turned soft. The elder Devotees, the ones who Know, keep out of such discussions. Aavaderyat has become tamer, to a degree. Gone is the thoughtless beast hellbent on rending worlds apart, replaced with a being who is capable of thought and speech and reason and yet still craves pulverizing worlds beneath his talons all the same. He has simply learned patience, and recognized he needs to bide his time in order to meet his goals. When the day comes, it's likely even The Devotees will be torn asunder by his claws, and what a glorious day it will be. |

@DragonPog
Alright, a pretty great start from the first look. I love their whole theme too, very well fitting. Great color pallet, and their outfit matches as well, love that. The multi-gaze is pretty good too, and matches. A very matchey dragon, that's great. However, the eyespots, though covered by the apparel, would look better as Peregrine, but that's just my opinion.
A pretty dang good dragon, and a good 9.5/10
Almost. Though they are really cool.
