Familiar Tender

★★★ QUICK LOOK
Veigar is the calm, fatherly caretaker of the Familiars in the Infernal Clan. Any Hatchlings come to him to be paired with a Familiar, and Veigar makes sure it goes well, occasionally with the help of his boyfriends, Pesti and Lence. While he’s usually very mild mannered, Veigar is a force to be reckoned with when he needs to be, especially when someone threatens his familiars or partners. He often works with Mortem to get hatchlings accustomed to the dozens of creatures under his care.

★★★ PERSONALITY
Veigar goes out of his was to come off as friendly in spite of his imposing size. Often found in the animal pens with all manner of creatures climbing on top of them, this Gaoler is the last thing you’d expect from the breed. While he is more then capable of corralling and controlling his charges, he often lets the various creatures run amok in their respective areas, much to the annoyance of the rest of the clan. This isn’t to say Veigar is a pushover, though. When push comes to shove, Veigar knows where his line in the sand is, and if forced to cross it he will fight. Even though Pestilence is the guardian of the Lair, most would-be invaders find themselves also facing down Veigar and any familiars than wanted to join the fray. When it comes to his relationship with Pestilence, Veigar is usually the one to make the decisions. He tires quickly of Pesti and Lence's bickering, and often times acts as a mediator between the two.

★★★ HISTORY
Before he joined The Infernal Clan, Veigar lived near the Seedscar. He worked as a soldier, helping contain the bloom and dealing with any pests that fought past the front line magisters. He bears the scars to show for his work, jagged marks through patches where his thick fur failed to protect him from thorned vines or bitting flytraps. After a severe injury which nearly lost him his right hind leg, Veigar retired from the Seedscar and sought to settle down somewhere. He found his new home in the Infernal Clan, where he was welcomed with open wings. He began caring for the familiars in an attempt to make up for the creatures he had to kill maintaining the Seedscar. One day, when Freyr brought in an injured Aberraion, it was Veigar, the closest thing the clan had to a healer at the time, who nursed them back to health. After they’d recovered, Veigar and Pestilence became fast friends, and eventually started dating. Pesti and Lence are the only ones who know the gorey details of Veigar’s past; it’s not something he enjoys sharing.
