The child of a great detective wasn't always an easy uprising, she spent days always wondering if her father was okay, alive and doing what he did best. Merd always loved her father, even if he didn't show up, or was around much at all. He was making the world a better place in any way he could for his job—even if the mysteries might be simple cases or the most complex cold case.

She'd often be spending time by herself, at home, helping her mother.

She left her father several written notes on his desk when she was younger to make sure he knew she still loved him. Likewise, she had plenty of his tales of great adventures he always had from her mother, and she loved to hear everything.

About how he saved a family of snappers from the terrible beast clans that lived around that were planning something quite terrible. But he stopped them, and furthermore, he did so with no party having to die in exchange for a peace that could be worked out.

She loved him, so much, she wanted to become like him! So she pulled herself into studying, and her mother noticed she spent long nights into reading such books that were tales of her father, and other great detectives.

Her dreams were always about the tales she might have in the future.

And then she grew, as a teenager, her father started to take her out inside the field, because she had begged him so much too. But only the cases he knew were safest for her. She'd not argue, but he knew she wanted more. However, as her father, he wasn't going to risk the safety of his daughter in his mind. Regardless how well she thought she could handle it.

She had also asked for his training, he didn't say no, when he was free, he started to help her and teach her some basic trainings, also bringing her to his own old mentor, who was more than curious to see if she had the talent.

Everything seemed to be going well, her small trips with him, her interest and skill growing as the days went by.

However, things can always go wrong, and they did.

He thought this was a simple case, one where they thought to be chasing a small criminal case. He got careless. His daughter saved as he took the blow, and managed to get to sucker, but his body giving out soon after. They rushed him to the healers, they found the damage to be quite bad.

So being forced to retire—for his wounds were going to make him useless to the force. He told his daughter not to blame herself, he had gotten careless. A simple mistake, too caught up in his daughter. He had been warned of this, but he somehow hoped this might his daughter grow into a better one then he was.

Merd hadn't even though this possible from her father. He always so brave and strong. Then again, some of the books she read were of the detective suffering quite bad ending, even if the case went over well, it always seemed to be the last one.

She didn't know what wanted to do. Her father was supportive for years when she finally grew old enough to make a decision.

Her young youth understood sacrifice. And she knew, this might not be her path forever. But she learned this was the future she had been training for. So with a farewell from her father and mother. It was time to go, her first case began.
