Brejan

Brejan was found abandoned or lost perhaps, as an egg sunken and buried in the Fishspine Reef freezing the coral around him. The hunter from Zanbiyas clan that found him chipped his egg off the reef thinking it some artifact of the spine. After several days of sitting on a shelf of salvaged artifacts dug out of the reef, his egg hatched and the hatchling confused, hungry, and alone, yipped and chirped while searching his new shelf-home.

The hunters of the clan returned several days later, the hatchling had survived on the slow moving slugs and water bugs that resided on his shelf. Surprised to find the tiny fae and seeing the remnants of the icy egg, the hunters pieced together what had happened.

Deciding not to abandon the hatchling, they kept the oddly tiny creature around. Brejan was the only fae, and for that matter, the only dragon below eight meters in height. He was no hunter, and was put to work caring for hatchlings, and keeping the lair neat, and food cooked.

He had difficulty getting food, and scavenged what he could from within the lair. Even the hatchlings were larger than he, and that meant frequent injuries for the tiny fae.

The fae was bullied by the large clan members, and in his time living there he lost an eye, badly ripped his crest in several places, and broke his tail and limbs several times all of which badly set. In general the fae was rather downtrodden in his time living in the caves beneath the leviathan trench. The one and only friend he had was Zanbiya. The two eventually left the clan as mates, despite the hunters jeering disapproval, to try their hand at living on their own.

Brejan turned out to be a fine swimmer, though a terrible flier due to his lack of depth perception and crippled appendages. The one thing his time in the caves did give him, was plenty of free time to work on offbeat skills of his own. Browsing the shelves of artifacts that began as his home, and did stay his nest during his time there, the fae found his skill in divination. He secreted away bones of an ancient fish, waterlogged cards, the shards of his own egg, magically still frozen, and the most likely stolen pearl of a pearlcatcher, and continues his practice on any dragon they meet.

He had a vision days before meeting Trip and his clan of the fae and came out of it determined to find the Kiith'e'kin and join their small lair. There was something important they needed to do there, he didn't know what yet, but it'd come eventually.

He can't do much in way of work around the lair, but cooks meat and fish, very simple dishes of course, when he can and assists Kaja in educating the hatchlings. He gives readings to those who wish it on occasion as well, premonitions come in handy for a group of avid adventurers and vagabonds.
