Osiris
Scientist
Oiris, child of Aurel and Arielle, was one of the few hatchlings allowed to stay in the den. Few dragon parents keep their children around and Aurel and Arielle were no exception. Aurel hated the idea of his son remaining in the den and pressured Osiris to leave nearly every day. Osiris knew his father was bad, how he had been hurting for years and never healed, so he ignored the insults. Instead, Osiris found comfort in Arielle, who loved him as much as she could. When hearing of Arielle's story, Osiris was determined to heal his mother's scars so she wouldn't feel the need to hide her face. So she could fly without fear. Aurel warned him not to interfere with Arielle, that his mother was fine, but Osiris ignored him. The young dragon dove into experimentation and shared any progress with his mother, who believed in him but not in science.
Close to success, Osiris took a small break after explaining his near-victory to his mother. When he returned to his lab, Aurel stood over the shattered glass and ruined chemicals with a furious glint in his eye. Aurel screamed at Osiris, who returned the favor. Aurel roared that Osiris, due to being born in the Shadowbinder's realm, wasn't even really a son of his. Aurel demanded to know why Osiris hadn't left the den like all his other siblings. For the first time in his life, Osiris fought back, violently. He battled his father fang and nail and drove the older dragon out of the lab, limping and bleeding. Osiris cut off Aurel and sought comfort from Arielle, who simply sang away the pain.
Osiris is kind to young dragons but is hostile to adult males, although he refuses to admit that his father impacted him. He is very self-reliant and hesitant to show anyone his work.
