There is nothing that Aten hates more than being mistaken for his little sister, Nebula. Of course, it doesn't help that they went into remarkably similar-sounding positions, although Aten will happily tell you that astronomy has nothing to do with astrology.

Aten is Vanoria's leading astronomist and is personally responsible for much of Vanoria's defense— he has found that the Starfall Isles themselves present a much bigger threat to the kingdom's safety than opposing armies. Much of his job involves searching the skies for meteors and large debris. On the rare occasion that he's away from the astronomy tower, he can usually be found alongside his wife, Baroness Iona, whom he adores above all else. She is the only one who can reliably pull him away from his studies for an extended period of time. Even their children have difficulty pulling Aten away from his research— however, when he is removed from his work, he is the most doting father and husband in all of Vanoria.

It was through his marriage that Aten was given a title, not because of his service. This is a sore subject between himself and Nebula, as she was titled for magic that he himself does not possess. However, despite their constant bickering, he does truly care for Nebula. He even occasionally assists her with her research, as frivolous as it seems to him.
