Biography

A sheltered and naive runaway princess, who is vain but has a good heart. Knowledgeable about ruling and diplomacy, but doesn't know how to do basic tasks. Absolutely smitten with Kryptonite.

"My greetings to you, Clan Matriarch," she says, folding herself into a beautiful arrangement. Opalfire flutters her wings to the Fae she correctly assumes is the matriarch's mate, expertly conveying respect. "I am Princess Opalfire. Thank you for allowing me to meet with you today."

The Matriarch inclines her head but says nothing.

A wise ruler, she thinks to herself. That, or inexperienced with receiving guests. "I am here to seek asylum," she admits. She gambles on the fact that most Guardians are honourable and just. She has nowhere else she can go, not in the state that she's in. "Just for a few days. Simply a place to rest my wings, collect myself. Then I'll be–"

"You need food, yes?"

Despite her knowledge, Opalfire has never spoken to a Guardian before, and is surprised by the deepness of her voice. "Yes," she squeaks, before she can collect herself. She tries her best to keep herself still and presentable, embarrassed at her mistake. That was so rude of me. Now I'm going to get thrown out, she thinks.

But instead, she is only met with a warm laugh and eyes glittering with mirth. "Knowledgeable Princess," says Snapback, "I could use an advisor like you. You may not keep your title, but you'd be able to stay as long as you wished. Would you be willing to join my clan?"

The princess thinks carefully. She's never been treated with such kindness before. The place she came from, yes, she was pampered, cared for, barely had to lift a finger. But every gaze was filled with malice, watching, waiting, for the smallest mistake to pounce on. But of course, she's a Spiral, so she finishes thinking in half a second. "Really? You'll have me? Could I make a request?" When Snapback nods, it takes everything she has to not fly directly into the atmosphere. There's one thing she's always wanted, since she was young; something she's never had before. "May I hug you?"

Snapback smiles, beckons her over. "Come here, child."
