B I O G R A P H Y

Founding a clan is no easy task, but Xylosma and Alyssum were of the same mind when it came to the job in front of them- a place where dragons could leave the past behind, shed their old identities, and become somebody new. At the edge of the Shifting Expanse, the two of them put together the beginning of a small town, a waypoint for travelers and a place to settle for those running away but tired of their journeys. And so began Clan Rafflesia.

One of two founders of Clan Rafflesia, Xylosma takes his role as clan head seriously, handling disputes in the clan with a professional air and surprising politeness, given his job is effectively to be yelled at by arguing dragons. While he lacks the raw power of his mate, he has a calmness to his nature that can smooth over most fights, and he is rather quick at thinking of a solution for the source of the conflict. When not behind his desk, he can be found at the public gardens, a personal project he has invested a hefty amount of time in, dedicated to bringing beauty to the Shifting Expanse- one only made possible by the assistance of the many mith he has enlisted over time.

Between Alyssum and her mate, many assume Xylosma to be the softer of the two, with his low, gentle voice, polite manner of speak, and the delicate way he treats the world around him. Still, he is shockingly perceptive, and one can only maintain a relationship with Alyssum if they are willing to risk much for little reward. He has great confidence in his abilities to fake weakness, and his naturally gentle nature serves him well in this manner. Of all the members of Clan Rafflesia, Xylosma is indeed the most unassuming threat.

As the co-founder of the clan and his mate, Alyssum and Xylosma share a naturally strong bond, and he would do anything to protect her reputation and secrets. As such, he usually deals with the social aspects of the clan, only relying on her to smooth things out with dragons too rowdy to listen to words alone. Their dynamic has proven quite effective, and Xylosma's loyalty shows no signs of wavering.

When Jaborosa first arrived in Clan Rafflesia, things were contentious between these two- those with red eyes and Plague on their breath were distrusted by Xylosma, who did not want disease and waste brought to the territory, and in particular his precious garden. The two spent quite some time bickering and barely tolerating each other, but over time they were brought together by Alyssum, who became the surprising peacemaker between these two rivals, and though they may disagree and snip at each other, they always end up reconciling in the end, regardless of whether they have Alyssum's assistance or not.
