The prized child, being the oldest daughter of the matriarchy. Bumph always hated the pressure that came along with it. Mother always wanted her to focus on fighting, to be "second in command". For what, Mom never mentioned but would always flash a hideous grin at the thought of it.
Bumph rather liked to play with the few bones she found around the Scarred Wasteland. When asked about it, she would say she was playing with the ghost and that Vitis said it was ok. This grew some concern for her as nobody has ever heard of this Vitis character so Ruby had Dr. Farrow look at her to no avail.

Other dragons believed that she was sick, despite what Dr. Farrow had to say, it was her behaviour and this was probably due to the stress her mother had put her through with the expectation of being Ruby's second in command. She often watched her siblings play-fight from the sidelines while flicking her bone around that Vitis had given her, she valued this bone, while she did play with other bones across the Wasteland this bone was her favourite. Ruby always questioned while she carried this bone around with her, Bumph always shrugged it off and claimed it was Vitis.
This so called 'sickness' of hers, plus the fact that she was an offspring of Ruby who was a feared dragon in the wastelands. Mirrors actively moved out of her way when she roamed the wastelands. While playing she came across Vitis who she followed to the edge of the boarder, to some ruins where a dragon of fame once occupied, he was an imperial, a strange species to be found in the wastelands especially since imperials are from the light flight. She had heard of her mother talking of this dragon, how she had the urge to find him to join her army. Maybe if she had found this plague imperial she would please her mother.
Without warning she had vanished with word that quickly spread that she was last seen at the ruins of the imperial plague and when this word spread to her mother, Ruby was both outraged that her supposed 'second in command' had fled but also proud for what she believes her eldest daughter has gone to find the plague imperial. She didn't send anyone to find her daughter, finally believing that she was willing to follow her demands without knowing it. Maybe her daughter had been smart enough to figure out her plan to other throw the plague bringer in revenge for their banishment.
Bumph had travelled for many weeks, still not turning round to face 'home' even once. She was determined to prove her mother wrong, she was not 'derranged' or sick, she just didn't believe war was an option. She knew what her mother wanted the second that sick grin had split across her face when Bumph had questioned the whole 'second in command' title she had been gifted. Only when she was close to giving up on finding this imperial did she come across the ruins of glyswing and Tver, disease ridden and fog covered. She had heard of this land, it was on Rubys list of places to dominate; little did her mother know a new kingdom had been founded on the edge of the ruins.
By the time she had gotten to the edge she was weak and weary, tired and in pain. By the time she had been discovered by the scavengers who were looking for eggs and treasure she was on the verge of passing out and out of pity she was collected by one of them. When she had woken up she had found herself in a temple, similar structure to the one in the wastelands. This had to be where he was,surely.
The first dragon to talk to her was Vitis, but her conversation had been cut short by a dragon with a starry blue mask who nodded to Vitis, this dragon could see Vitis. This dragon introduced herself as Eveningfall, an obelisk. Meaning this was a land of different dragons? How strange. She was welcomed to the temple of the sacred horizon by EveningFall who then said she can see spirits and even interacted with Vitis, Bumph didn't know anyone else who could speak to this dragon who was her friend, this was the whole reason why she was deemed sick in the first place.
She was kept in the temple until a 'celebration of the hatchlings' as it was called by these strange dragons, Bumph had seen so many different dragons; Faes, imperials and so many others. She had never seen a land so diverse, she doesn't know what territory she is even in currently but it is still shocking to Bumph.At this celebration she was given a new name "ShatteredShard"
While she would be referred to this while in this 'kingdom' she was also allowed to keep her birth-name. The dragons with plague genes or eyes understood this and are similar to her but she was either called "ShatteredShard" or just "Shard". While at this celebration she met the dragon that she was looking for, he called himself Guildfire, he looked after this temple and now he was in charge of looking after Bumph.
Several times had bumph tried to talk to him about his mothers plans and every time the response had been "war destroys lives and brings disease, especially a war that includes plague dragons. He did not want war, while he understands where her mother was coming from with the cruelty of the plague bringer, he did not seem the idea justifiable in the slightest and even after many suggestions Guild had stated he was happy to remain in the temple far away from the grasp of the plague deity and the cruelty they can bring, he even went as far to persuade ShadderedShard to not chase up the leaders of the many clans that occupied the new kingdom, putting emphasis on those in the Horizon ridge and those from the Sunlit grove, all dragons who occupied there were healers of some kind and those who lived in the temple were guardians yes, but they didn't believe in violence or war after the war between glyswing or Tver.
Overtime she had slowly come to the realisation that her mother was in the wrong, she couldn't nor wouldn't bring this kingdom into her mothers war and she slowly learnt the peaceful way of living under the wing of the temple guardians, and became very close with EveningFall who spent time with her explaining how she can see spirits and the whole history of the new kingdom and the land of ruins that lays across the boundaries.
It wasn't until much later that another of her species would be discovered and be named "FalconDust" after his patterns and she then started to frequent both the temple and the lost mines under the mountains. It was in these mines she had also found Ridger who is her companion which follows her around the temple and mines. She has a gut feeling one day her mother will come to haunt her and drag her back to the army to fight the plague bringer, but she buries that feeling deep in her gut and tries to ignore it.
