Biography

naturetop.png
Farrow was born alone. As he waddled up the the adult dragons that were nearby, he was shooed away, as they were busy tending to the SeedScar-- tending to it, as they couldn't let this monstrosity get out of hand. With this, Farrow was left to chill by himself. As he chilled, he slowly started trying to help out and heal the tree too, but nobody around wanted this silly cotal to get hurt, too busy with their work to notice that he was a nature dreg.

The bard's hat hung crooked over his head as he craned his neck down to better look at the young coatl.

Wide verdant eyes stared at him with heart-melting innocence, the hue of them a tell tale sign of the young hatchling’s impossible origin.

Tegan looked one way and then the other. He didn’t see anyone in the vicinity and his antennae picked nothing besides the hatchling's curiosity.

What to do? What to do?

Like any good Eternian the idea to call upon the Matriarch for counsel was the first to manifest in his mind but the longer he dwelled on it, watching the plump baby dragon plod around without a worry in the world, the more he second guessed himself.

Artemisa was usually a very understanding individual but with the looming threat of the First Seed that constantly attempted to breach its magical containment the ruthless mirror was very much on edge. He was certain that she too would ask herself how a newborn from the opposing Element had made it there and he knew she would be unafraid to employ less peaceful means should asking prove unfruitful.

He couldn’t understand why but he instantly worried about the little one’s well being. He must be growing incredibly soft after getting used to communal life. Once upon a time it was him and his talent trying to make a living in the harsh world, not a worry in his mind but for his next gig and his next meal… Now he was cursed with empathy and he hated everything about it.

He tried to coax a single answer from the feathered hatchling that could alleviate the weight of responsibility from his shoulders but to no avail. The kid seemed to be alone in every sense, a dangerous thing in the unforgiving Wasteland.

He gave the child directions to stay put, then thought better about it and tried again, slower and with lots of exaggerated gestures to help convey his meaning. His level of success was questionable at best. Did the hatchling even speak? Could he understand what was being said? Children had to be taught such things right? Oh boy.

Tegan had to risk it and left for the Eternity Camp in a hurry, making up excuses as he went when his peers inquired about his apparent urgency.

Vita wasn’t hard to find. While under normal circumstances she would keep to herself, likely roaming the wilds surrounding their caravan in predatory silence, this time around her knowledge on nature’s magic had brought her to the centre of all activity. It was just his luck that she was currently consorting with the Overseer, the scary ridgeback that rivalled the Queen when it came to her authoritative aura.

He swallowed the knot on his throat and schooled his features to appear calm and somewhat indifferent. He approached slowly, dipping his head slightly as crimson and verdant eyes landed on him at the same time. He inwardly congratulated himself for not flinching under Varda’s glare.

“Excuse me. I need to have a word with Vita.”

His request wasn’t denied much to his surprise but the Ridgeback still assessed him with a highly intuitive one-over that was enough to turn his blood into ice in his veins. He couldn’t afford to be caught now that he had made up his mind.

“What is the matter-” The dragoness dressed in luscious vegetation started to say when they were left alone but the bard quickly interrupted, urging her to follow back to the Seedscar, explaining as best he could the nature of the situation while they rushed to where he left the hatchling hidden.

A quick look around didn’t reveal the hatchling’s location and so Tegan began to sing the way he had been when he came across the young coatl for the first time.

It worked and the nature hatchling came bouncing out of the warped bushes, its little jaws parting to join the melody with bass tones of his own.

Vita blinked, approached and with a sweet motherly smile gathered the hatchling up with her short arms. “Hello little one.”

Tegan stopped his singing and looked at her expectantly, his wide gaze wordlessly conveying his inquiry ‘What do we do?’

“We will care for him of course. You were right, his presence here is an oddity and he is much too young to be subjected to our peer’s methods of investigation.” She shook her head. “Your tent is far enough from the rest to keep him hidden in there. I’ll take care of the rest.”

“Alright alright.. wait, my tent?!”

Farrow was quite upset when the grumpy skydancer and the plant covered wildclaw put him in the care of the Caravan of the Infected Voyagers. He tried to claw his way back to Tegan, humming their tune in a ill-fated attempt to win him over. However, he failed.

And with that, Swiftshot, the head warrior in the caravan took care of him, ensuring he didn’t get into too much trouble. Farrow despised how she tried to act like his mother. He felt he had no family anymore. The skydancer was supposed to be family. But family doesn’t betray each other.

As time went on, Farrow focused on learning more about plants. He doesn't care if they are living, infected, or dead: Farrow just adores plants and any fun facts surrounding them, such as care. Tanuo was great help, as she taught Farrow a lot, but he soon surpassed her as he spent all his free time obsessing over this fascination with plants. Spending time at the SeedScar was valuable, as it taught him many skills on how to heal plants in the true plague fashion. Farrow spends most of his time nurturing his plant Lurker, which has been doing extremely well after he nursed the leafy green back to health. Any dragon in the Caravan of the Infected Voyagers knows when Farrow is tending to a plant as he's always humming some lovely bassline; deep like a bari sax.

As Farrow matured, Swiftshot noticed her son was a bit off. Most notably was the fact that he didn't try to run off to the Emberglow Hearth to raise a nest. Farrow was confused when Swiftshot brought up the idea of him "returning" to the Emberglow Hearth. In fact, he got all huffy as he had never been there, and just because he likes to travel doesn't mean he likes to travel to the same destination as other Coatls. Farrow was quite content when the subject was never brought up again.

While traveling around, close to the water/plague border, he noticed a gorgeous ridgeback watching their caravan. Wishing to compliment her on her stunning appearance he decided to seize the day and so he walked up to her. Unsure of what to say, Farrow just started talking about his plants, as he doesn't know how to smalltalk. Then he remembered why he was there, to tell the stunning lady how beautiful she was. With that, he complimented the lady on her spines, which almost went terribly until he explained how her spines were in excellent condition as typically adult ridgebacks have scuffed spines due to burrowing. Farrow was relieved when she didn't take it the wrong way, and was ecstatic when she stuck around and joined the clan.

When his new friend Rowena started asking for gifts such as a gown and nice jewelry, he went ahead and did it cause good friends are nice. It wasn't long after when she would stop by his family's wagon for dinner and they hung out in his room cause why not? It wasn't long before Farrow heard the rumors that Rowena was his mate, which after thinking on the idea for a bit, he decided he liked the idea cause she was nice and beautiful.
