Plaguebringer Bone Scrimshaw Winter Brussels Sprouts

The floor of the ambassadorial hall was set for a ritual. Crystals, stones and flowers were arranged in complicated designs. Arkar surveyed it with a critical eye. “So she said, this will call forth hatchlings and they'll be viable?” She clarified.

Gladekeeper nodded, “Yes the gems channel nature’s energy. It shortens the hatching into the space of a day rather than the usual incubation. Furthermore the hatchlings will be slightly God touched, something like I am, though not as thoroughly. It shouldn't impair their life expectancy any but it will give them a certain connection with our God.”

“ A connection that will make them useful in being ambassadors?” Arkar clarified.

“Of course they will be hatched with knowledge of nature that most dragons take years of study to acquire.”

Arkar nodded, satisfied. The parents of the nest appeared at the door carrying the eggs still wet and slick with the mud from the nesting grounds. Placing them in the center where Gladekeeper directed Chernoble and her mate set the eggs down in the center of the ring of gems. Then they stepped back. Gladekeeper called the power of nature through the stones and the flowers and into the waiting eggs the gems glowed green then began to melt around them. The eggs glowed then cracked a moment later two, two-headed babies were tumbling over each other in the center of a wilted, melted array.

Realizing they were being watched, the young aberrations calmed themselves and looked around. They seemed very mature for their age. The darker one turned to Gladekeeper and bowed.

“Thank you for all the magic,” He said in a clear voice that had no youthful accent and sounded strange coming from a hatchling.

The mirror dragon nodded her antlered head. “Go forth into the world young dragons, represent nature flight wisely and well.”

“Yes,” the smaller, more brightly colored hatchling said. “That is what we must do isn't it? We are not like the other dragons of this clan, our hatching came through great magic.”

“Do not look down on others because of your origins in life or you will find everyone is your enemy,” Arkar cautioned. The hatchlings with their natural wisdom saw the sense in that.

“Thank you Clan leader for that start in life. We shall do our best to make you proud.”

Sprout and Spore were the more brightly colored hatchling in their nest. Their nature magic manifested in giving them incredible insight into the plants and fungus around them. Sprout can hear seeds germinating in the ground. He can tell what branches of a tree will bloom even when it is dormant. He can convince flowers to open out of season.

Spore has similar abilities with fungus. He can hear the mycelium growing in the soil beneath his feet. He can track the growth of a gall in a tree before it breaks though the bark, and he is an expert at finding edible mushrooms.

The brothers are very similar in temperament, and have a bit of a rivalry going on, each stretching their powers to the limits in an effort to outdo the other in what they can perceive. They are not antagonistic towards each other however, they know they have more in common with each other than anyone else. The results of their friendly rivalry are a garden that is finer than any outside the nature domain. Their clanmates are happy to eat the results of their growing competitions.
