This is where it all began. A simple, more or less unnotable dragon with a propensity for warning everyone about what not to do.
Starbound is sometimes called 'Mom' behind her back, for she certainly acts like it, with how she berates, nags, and ultimately, cares for everyone. In a way, the USR is as much an orphanage as it is a group of highly trained agents, scientists, and researchers. All because Starbound saw a need to gather a force large enough to help her protect everyone from themselves.
Unlike the other primal-eyed individuals in the USR, Starbound took the vial to become one, at a great financial cost to the organisation. There was no one else to take on the mantle of the ice primal, and she strongly believed that even if they could find anyone, they wouldn't be as good as she is. Allowing her to strengthen her own abilities and truly become a force to be reckoned with.

Report #006 Curiosity Type: Object Classification: DANGEROUS Special Containment Procedures The subject is to be kept on the person of a seer class personnel at all times; the only known way to render it entirely safe. Under no circumstances should any other personnel come into contact with it, no matter their potential ability to withstand it or whether or not they've wielded it, or any other similar malfeasance before. Should there be no personnel available to wield it, the skull of the subject should be left alone and preferably sealed inside an indoor location. If containment is impossible, then destruction should be considered, but only after the area has been evcuated as best as possible. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮ Document #018-01: Message from ██████████ to ██████████ ██████████, I am writing to you to about what I believe to be a widespread disaster in the making. That scoundrel, Higgins, is at it again. Aside from our hands being tied what with all these mysterious chests dropping everywhere for the most random of reasons, that pompous Nocturne has made it so that even mundane items collected during the month can be traded in for spares! At this rate, the number of malfeasances will be greater than we can handle. To make matters worse, the vast majority seem to think these things mere accessories! Accessories!! The audacity! Document #018-02: Letter to ██████████ If you don't mind me saying, ██████████, but these things are relatively harmless. The only real effect that we have managed to glean from experimenting with the one you found, is that it causes its wielder to be occasionally overcome with a great sadness. Nothing just taking it off and consuming some chocolate can't fix. Document #01-02: Message from ██████████ to ██████████ What you scientists can find out, versus what I and every other magically aligned dragon can feel about these things, couldn't be more different. At the very least, shouldn't we stand against dragon-folk wearing the skulls of the deceased? Deceased souls of those painfully wronged, to boot! If not for the danger, then at the very least, for the respect for the dearly departed. Mark my words, 'sadness' is just the cusp of what these things can embody. Should we continue to search, I have no doubts that we will find others that encapsulate other, more extreme, emotions as well. All we really need is just one to fuel some unknowing soul out there with a malicious anger, and it'd be game over. The dead aren't meant to be trifled with, and they are definitely not meant to be apparel. Remember, by the time anything happens, it would've been too late. And we would look all the foolisher for not having taken action preemptively. Some wrongs are difficult to leave behind, and I believe that if we let this one slide, it will haunt us till our last waking breath.

Description The subject bears the shape of a dragon's skull. Seemingly the skull of a guardian, due to the horns, though this has not been definitively confirmed due to the deformation of the skull. It is possible, however, that it is an ancient breed, or that of a dragon-like creature such as the uncommon bone fiend. Each instance of the subject is near identical, and all are possessed by similar, disembodied, dragon head spirits that will silently, albeit creepily, accompany whoever equips the artefact. Whilst the most common spirit, one of sadness and regrets, has been dubbed the 'Woeful Presence', and hasn't been found to pose any danger yet, it is the USR's recommendation that individuals stay away from the subject regardless. Other variations include ones that have been dubbed 'Malign', 'Sinister', 'Unlucky', and the worst of all, the 'Murderous'. Each coming with their own unique shade and coloration. When the subjects are presented to each other, they occasionally can fuse and mix to become something entirely new. The effects of which have not been confirmed, though it is presumed that this can amplify the emotions felt. | // |
