Biography

~~~
There once lived a handsome knight whose scales shined like jewels. His serpentine body reflected the shimmering waters of a tropical sea, and his wings gleamed in the sky like gold. He served a great kingdom ruled by two fair rulers, and their daughter, the princess, was betrothed to him. They were deeply in love with each other.
One day, the court mage betrayed the kingdom by revealing herself to be an agent of the Shade. She kidnapped the princess and fled deep into the mountains at the border of the kingdom. Enraged, the knight embarked on a quest to rescue the princess. After days of trekking through untamed wilds and braving the harsh elements thrown his way, he found the mage's hiding place. The knight caught her off guard, and with his talons to the mage's throat, he threatened her to release the princess.
Except, the mage told him, he was too late. She had already sacrificed the princess the day before in a failed ritual to instigate the return of the Shade, and due to her failure, she was ready to accept her fate. All that remained of the princess was a fragment of her soul—a wisp of light floating inside of a glass jar. The mage even told him that the princess's one regret was being unable to tell him goodbye.
The knight demanded the mage bring her back to life. If it was within the realm of possibility, he would pay whatever price necessary to be with her again. The mage said that with this sliver of her soul left behind, there was one way to revive her, but at the cost of the knight's body. He might even lose his own mind, she warned, but in return, he and the princess would be one and the same. The knight accepted these risks and allowed her to carry out the revival.
Today, the knight's scales shine no longer. They shattered after the ritual, leaving deep scars behind. But it was a small price to pay to be reunited with his beloved. The princess and the knight, happily together, shall never be separated again...
